  1. Yeah, 26.8" here which is just about 50% of average.
  2. 1 day of chilly drizzle underway, 59 to go!
  3. Sneaky chilly morning here at 18F. Makes me extra glad the power came back on yesterday.
  4. Just speaking for my yard, I can't imagine having reported anything other than the 24 hour max depth during this particular event... and even that was a rather fleeting high-water mark, obtained only by watching the board like a hawk. But my final total was 9.0", with the core melted down to 1.52" for a 6:1 storm SLR.
  5. I'm interested to see if there's anything to corroborate that 16" report in Hopewell Junction. Hopefully I get a reliable internet connection tomorrow and can snoop around social media reports. Edit: looks like 17" near Lake Carmel. Really impressive without much elevation.
  6. If we even had a half-decent high to the north, it would have been widespread 16+. But still nice especially in the context of the season, like you say.
  7. Snow globe conditions here with supersized flakes, but liquid is just pouring off the trees and the snow is thinning out on my south-facing slopes. Clocked 8.2" on the board during the last band to come through.
  8. Still getting crushed with the aid of the mid-level banding. Up to 8.0"
  9. It's snowing hard enough here to quickly coat recently cleared pavement. Can see depth being added. No idea what the temperature is
  10. I'm going for maximum ugliness here with minimum payoff. Roads are all blocked, power out, my dogwood and lilacs getting decimated... all for 4" and struggling to make any net gains in the daylight. Snow growth has improved again after a lull, so maybe we can start adding inches again.
  11. It's really pounding under this little low-level convergence band. About 4" so far, but starting to pile up more quickly. 32F
  12. Snowing nicely once again. Hopefully I can keep this up for while, but now I'm really off to bed.
  13. The low-level drying isn't far behind if the HRRR is to be believed. It'll be hard to get any sustainable rates with that column, especially since I'm still above freezing at the ground. Still interesting to watch, but significant accumulations are hanging by a thread up here.
  14. Blech... back to rain. The 925 mb warming means business. Off to bed.
  15. HRRR now dryslots as far west as the gunks for most of the day tomorrow. Pretty abysmal...
  16. Dumping snow here in central Dutchess. Puking, even. Just an assault of aggregates. Heaviest I've seen in a couple years. Really need that mixing line to wash out a little.
  17. 32.5 here at 600 ft. The mixing line is really surging northward on CC with the 925 freezing line. NAM briefly warm sectors me by 6z, but maybe I can just skirt around it.
  18. I'm pretty shocked at how dry it is west of the river. Just endless model failures with this system. It's snowing here already with grass turning white. I consider that a very early changeover and a good omen for the rest of the night.
  19. Are y'all sure it's sleet and not just snowflake remnants? I don't see any hint of a refreezing layer
  20. Noise canceling earbuds are firmly inserted so I don't have to listen to all of this wasted precip
  21. Still 40F here at 21z. That's a couple degrees warmer than the GFS but basically in line with everything else. No compelling reason to toss anything yet.
  22. GFS still looks decent here, which is a little comforting after the torched RGEM/3km NAM/ICON
