  1. 35 for a low. Had to head out early and hoping no issues with the annuals I've already planted. 35 can get dicey at ground level.
  2. 90 here already. It's a shame we couldn't extend this one more day for a first half of April heat wave in spots.
  3. Summerlike temps perfectly coinciding with peak flowering bulbs and trees has really been an experience. Almost makes a person reconsider their disdain for spring as a concept.
  4. And touched 90.0 before back down to 89. It still feels reasonably comfortable thanks to the breeze and low dews.
  5. Ended up with a slightly smaller swing than yesterday (33/73 today), despite the launch sequence in the first couple hours after sunrise. Lousy afternoon clouds. Had to water my garlic today
  6. 30-degree diurnal swing already achieved for the day.
  7. Can zoom/pan this map and get interactive data https://www.timeanddate.com/eclipse/map/2024-april-8
  8. Like hell they will. The Thruway will be Arlo Guthrie levels of blocked if the weather looks good. After seeing what I-81 was like in the relative middle of nowhere in 2017, I'm fully convinced that if you're not positioned upstate 2 days ahead of time, you're just not gonna get there from downstate.
  9. Seeing some lightning flashes from that little cell over Candlewood Lake
  10. 66 today. I got peepers for the first time
  11. Yeah, 26.8" here which is just about 50% of average.
  12. 1 day of chilly drizzle underway, 59 to go!
  13. Sneaky chilly morning here at 18F. Makes me extra glad the power came back on yesterday.
  14. Just speaking for my yard, I can't imagine having reported anything other than the 24 hour max depth during this particular event... and even that was a rather fleeting high-water mark, obtained only by watching the board like a hawk. But my final total was 9.0", with the core melted down to 1.52" for a 6:1 storm SLR.
  15. I'm interested to see if there's anything to corroborate that 16" report in Hopewell Junction. Hopefully I get a reliable internet connection tomorrow and can snoop around social media reports. Edit: looks like 17" near Lake Carmel. Really impressive without much elevation.
  16. If we even had a half-decent high to the north, it would have been widespread 16+. But still nice especially in the context of the season, like you say.
  17. Snow globe conditions here with supersized flakes, but liquid is just pouring off the trees and the snow is thinning out on my south-facing slopes. Clocked 8.2" on the board during the last band to come through.
  18. Still getting crushed with the aid of the mid-level banding. Up to 8.0"
  19. It's snowing hard enough here to quickly coat recently cleared pavement. Can see depth being added. No idea what the temperature is
  20. I'm going for maximum ugliness here with minimum payoff. Roads are all blocked, power out, my dogwood and lilacs getting decimated... all for 4" and struggling to make any net gains in the daylight. Snow growth has improved again after a lull, so maybe we can start adding inches again.
  21. It's really pounding under this little low-level convergence band. About 4" so far, but starting to pile up more quickly. 32F
