  1. Can't find a traffic cam on NJDOT site that shows anything but wet roads. State of Emergency and NJDOT Commercial Travel Ban? Was totally uncalled for. Dilutes the message when one is actually needed. Was not THAT long ago that States of Emergency during winter storms were reserved for 12"+, blowing/drifting and heavy rates of fall so as to actually impede travel. This was never any of that. Then they wonder why people are apathetic and don't pay attention.
  2. Friends update from Mt. Laurel: Light snow, sometimes moderate but small flakes. Temperature holding at 30. Total snow so far 2.8". No sticking on paved surfaces.
  3. Will be finishing this event with 1" or less at my location for sure. Was forecasting 1-2" and will likely struggle to reach 1". Central park is not getting 1" much less 2.
  4. Currently still holding at 25 here. Light snow. Just .30" so far. Mt. Laurel update from friend. 2.2" as of noon and 30 degrees. Sky bright and not sticking on paved surfaces. Still light to moderate snow falling.
  5. Time sensitive but best of the day rates so far in Times Square https://www.earthcam.com/usa/newyork/timessquare/?cam=tsrobo1
  6. Mt. Laurel NJ update from friend. (Burlington County) As of 11am. Light to moderate snow. Temperature 29. Total new snow 1.8".
  7. Based on radar the heaviest snow will be falling over CNJ / SNJ over the next 3-4 hours. That is when the bulk of this will be falling there. From the looks of radar there are some 1" per hour rates embedded in the overall radar returns so it could come down pretty good for a while, especially over southern 1/3 of NJ up to about the 195 area. Especially SNJ though.
  8. Legit light snow here now. With decent size flakes at times. Currently 25 degrees. Update from friend in Mt. Laurel is moderate snow.
  9. Temperature 23. Very light/fine snow currently. Trace. Per friend in Mt. Laurel - 1" as of 9:45. Snow of varying intensities. Sky "bright".
  10. Usually the kiss of death for lower than forecast snow amounts. Used to hate it back in the day to see "Sun Dimly Visible" or "Moon Dimly Visible" in the obs. during a snow event.
  11. Nice snow swath as seen on morning visible satellite pic. That snow pack helped produce the extreme cold this morning over the northern Gulf states and TN Valley this morning. I believe it hit 0 in Nashville this morning.
  12. 2" here. Temperatures low 20's late morning into mid afternoon. High for the day 25.3 which is current temperatures. The snow was crusted over by light freezing drizzle at times during early afternoon. Precipitation did end as a period of snow. Winds gusting out of the NW now.
  13. All but over here. As of 11:00 event total 2". Didn't even reach the low end of my forecast (3-5") for this area. Under performer up this way in my opinion. Could still be periods of flurries but I think the accumulating is done.
