  1. yep. starting up again with noticeable difference in flake type.
  2. This. Seen this occur often at the tail end of events here. Holding of on RE- snowblowing the driveway for now.
  3. dam block. Bet through all 3 ongoing threads no one ever said "madison special". we never learn.
  4. probably got another inch of synoptic snow to go based on radar trends which should put me past the 5" mark.
  5. Visibility was down to about 5 blocks in heavy snow for awhile. 1-2" accumulated from 8 am until now. Clealry past 4 " now. Back to light snow. I smell a rally for Chicago peeps.
  6. steady as she goes.....probably headed past 4 " at this point.
  7. starting to spit here again. I'm going to say we get a pleasant surprise over the next 24 hours to make this a win.
  8. I guess the block was denied. Don't radar obsess these days. Any chance we get into the backlash snow as wave passes to the east today?
  9. snow day. If I can put down several down several more inches and catch a couple dying lake bands over the next 24 hours I'll call it a win.
  10. surprised at the consistency of the snow as it is blowing quite easily for what was supposed to be such a wet snow. Nice winter evening with the whipping wind and snow btw.
  11. good. toss. outlier. probably ingested some bad data out near needles, CA.
  12. nice to hear something positive. I'll take two steps back from the ledge.
  13. i hope the 13" photo in Nebraska followed by the graupel photo in chicago is not telling.
  14. finally starts snowing after model watching for 3 days....checks board posts, and it's over.
  15. as a younger guy I used a 4 iron to slice those into the neighbors yard in the cold months. true story.
  16. LOT PM AFD out. No changes. 8-12" in some their near lake zones Risk of lake effect into Wednesday. What's to complain?
  17. so we've got past the euro blip? Excellent. That's 7-9" IMBY. I'm good.
  18. From LOT:" AT THE LEADING EDGE OF THE DRYSLOT, STEEP LAPSE RATES WILL COMPETE WITH DIMINISHING HIGH-LEVEL MOISTURE. IF MOISTURE REMAINS IN SUFFICIENT SUPPLY, CONVECTIVE-TYPE SNOW WOULD CONTINUE TO BE POSSIBLE AFTER MIDNIGHT AND ACT TO LOCALLY ENHANCE TOTALS, BUT THIS REMAINS LOWER CONFIDENCE AT THIS TIME. "
  19. appreciate the update on what will be a snow grain when it gets to my yard
  20. Tremendous messaging by LOT on this event in my opinion from a public perspective. Never bit on the high end numbers from 2 days ago and have pretty much stayed the course on a solid 6 " event. The latest update on accumulation refinement between I-39 and I-355 is another nice touch given that area will be in between the best accumulation maxima. Sadly, I'm in that zone..
