  1. so Cohen thinks it's going to get milder as we get towards March. I believe his last call you posted was that it would get colder in January. got to give his props, he was right on that January call.
  2. not sure why, but I'm optimistic on the late week clipper. Late season clippers can really get surprisingly juiced if your on the right side. LOT: THIS CLIPPER IS ONE TO WATCH AS IT HAS THE POTENTIAL TO BRING A SWATH OF ACCUMULATING SNOW TO THE UPPER MIDWEST. WHETHER OR NOT THAT'S INTO OUR FORECAST REMAINS TO BE SEEN QC: THERE CONTINUES TO BE SIGNS OF A STRONGER CLIPPER WITH PACIFIC MOISTURE MOVING INTO THE MIDWEST THURSDAY NIGHT. ALL GUIDANCE IS IN SUPPORT OF THIS FEATURE AND ARE BEGINNING TO CONVERGE ON A TRACK ACROSS THE UPPER MIDWEST AND GREAT LAKES Milwaukee: THE SECOND, AND MUCH STRONGER CLIPPER SYSTEM DIGS ACROSS THE REGION THURSDAY NIGHT THROUGH FRIDAY NIGHT, AND WILL BRING THE BEST POTENTIAL FOR ACCUMULATING SNOW.
  3. frozen dog turd days of winter............
  4. yeah the "winter blahs" will do that. Thankful, for the clipper parade, a Lake Snow event, and mini GHD event to follow for 5 days. But the dog days of winter our now here. No events in sight and days upon days of 20's/30's with little to watch. At least the ground is white.
  5. eh. they'll probably run into Loyola in the second round. and to keep this on topic...what a nice midwestern event for areas that have suffered. We know wisky/minny will get theres i April. Now is when we need to score.
  6. what are the odds? Temps in the teens, strong N-NE wind flow, and a storm passing southeast of us and can barely buy a flurry from the lake. That's just bad fortune.
  7. took the 30-35 range. Gonna take it on the shin with Masters Weekend snowfall.
  8. ongoing flakeage. Comes and goes. I imagine downstate Illinois and Indiana getting pounded and nary a word.
  9. started snowing out here at a good clip...wind is howling.
  10. where's the first legit 20" report going to come from?
  11. yeah. payback gonna be a bitch. And I'm old enough to know this shiat evens out.
  12. in fairness the event was named that for the storm not where it would hit. And at the time numerous 20" totals were progged by models. But lets face it even those totals based on a baroclinic zone where waves run along it does not cut the mustard. And anyone that thinks GHD ll held a candle to l is loopy. Nothing I've ever seen compared to l. Nonstop, lightning, thunder and blinding snow for hours....Chicago> boooston. Is uncanny, the amount of Groundhog day storms that have occurred recently.
  13. ^ it's not far east enough yet. Can say snowfall in Downers Grove continues at a light/moderate clip.
  14. ^ last night's RAP making a run to verify
  15. agreed nothing worse than watching a home floor loss in the Big 10.
  16. still snowing at a decent clip. One of my best parts of a storm is post storm after I've booked the amounts on the ground and it just keeps flaking even at a light pace after days of model burn.
  17. going to carry Alek to the finish line.
  18. Nice job by you guys on this. Stood the course in a very tough gradient situation and looks like you will end up almost spot on in most zones. Not easy to do.
  19. down in downers grove. Quite a bit more down here than in Glen Ellyn. I'd say 6" easy. GE probably 3".
  20. I believe LOT's call was for 1-2" by daybreak for them. So spot on. Believe I'm outpacing that out this way. And I was to be 1-2 by daybreak. Not going to achieve some of the higher numbers that were showing up last night on the near term models, but not shut out either(which was a concern). Will take my 4-8"(hopefully higher end) and run.
  21. one 20" storm in late February and your view changes.
  22. . This guy aside. Good luck. Looks like a fun day.
  23. 2" down. Fine light snow falling. LOT holding onto a 4"-8" call for mby. Seems on target. Morning update with no real changes for majority of thier CWA. Checks radar: looks good.
  24. any commentary on radar trends as it relates to some of these short term models and optimism for heavier snowfall further NW into LOT zones?
  25. all about what falls from the sky at this point.
