  1. New Orleans is a dump. I don't need its weather.
  2. 30 days from now everything will be dead. Right?
  3. This was a bit of a miss. Posted 3:15 PM Friday: SATURDAY PARTLY SUNNY. HIGHS IN THE MID 70S. EAST WINDS 10 TO 15 MPH. more like cloudy with with spits of showers and temps in 60's. If I had outdoor plans I'd be a bit perturbed.
  4. Garden going to enjoy the next week.
  5. we caught a break this year on 12/31. I believe year before pattern was null until mid January...and of course thereafter....took off.
  6. ^ nah. right on cue. lock it in until january 15th.
  7. I'm always amazed at summer time's convection/sky cover to pull the pants down on local forecast offices repeatedly. And people think forecasting in Sarasota is simple.
  8. Spinning upper lows in late May no fun for anyone. Somewhere, someone was under this thing for 3 days and it's been an early April redux..Joplin?
  9. This upper low system has sort of been a forecast nightmare for LOT. Wednesday and Thursday "numerous showers/storms" have pretty much been relegated to a 1 hours window of scattered showers yesterday afternoon. Even temps. projected in the 60's far over performed. Unfortunaetly, now the worst day of the stretch is Friday, which was supposed to be decent. Now Cloudy, windy and low 60's. See if they can the last 18 hours of it pegged. just enjoyed one of the nicer evenings on the patio .
  10. Sirens wailing, sun shining through the broken clouds, showers, and kids wandering home from school wondering what's going on. And a rainbow. Cluster.
  11. you are correct. On another note, just cut the grass in the dry window and despite the dampness it still feels mild and muggy. Sure sign we've turned a corner when after a rain, and cloudy day it still has a summer feel. Haven't felt warm and muggy on a cloudy day since a day or two before Christmas.
  12. August 10, 2020 Derecho says stop whining.
  13. SUNDAY WILL BE WINDY, FEATURING FREQUENT SOUTHERLY GUSTS UP TO 30-35 MPH, AND POTENTIAL FOR OCCASIONAL GUSTS UP TO 40 MPH. WE'LL START TO PUMP IN HIGHER (60F+ DEW POINTS) Do you know what this kind of wind feels like getting out of a pool?
  14. Nothing better than seeing the weather geek humanize the technical discussion. It's like were real people : ANTICIPATE A TRANQUIL START TO THE HOLIDAY WEEKEND FRIDAY EVENING WITH FAIRLY COMFORTABLE TEMPS. LOOKS HOT AND HUMID (NEAR 90/NEAR TO AROUND 70 TD AND PERFECT FOR HOLIDAY POOL PARTIES). Top notch.
  15. LOT: "DEW POINTS BOTTOMING OUT IN THE 30S AND LOWER 40S SUNDAY AFTERNOON AND UNSEASONABLY STRONG HIGH PRESSURE AROUND 1030 MB OVERHEAD SUNDAY NIGHT WILL PAVE THE WAVE FOR QUITE POSSIBLY THE LAST TRULY COOL NIGHT UNTIL NEXT FALL." Foreigner. Sorry RC. but saves the day with this: "CURRENT SIGNS POINT TOWARD ABOVE NORMAL WARMTH FOR THE SUNDAY-MEMORIAL DAY MONDAY PERIOD. " A true poet.
  16. LOT new AFD: if,maybe, would, could, perhaps, possibility, chance. BOLD.
  17. NEXT SHORTWAVE IS PROGGED TO ARRIVE MIDWEEK WITH POTENTIAL FOR ANOTHER HEALTHY RAINFALL SNOWFALL FOLLOWED BY MORE BELOW AVERAGE TEMPERATURES. - IZZI Dude is a jinx. Where was this in mid winter?
  18. my thoughts exactly. or did you mean repeat or roll back the above average days.or both? and I guess all that is probably true.
  19. I think you've seen your last rain until 2030. Plan accordingly.
  20. AC unit spewing water. This early heatwave might have done it in. Wake me, when September comes.
  21. I get it. But still? Last time I saw anything fall on me from a clear sky a bird had shit on me.
  22. one of my pet peeves: SATURDAY NIGHT MOSTLY CLEAR WITH ISOLATED SHOWERS IN THE EVENING, FRIDAY MOSTLY SUNNY. A 20 PERCENT CHANCE OF SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS IN THE AFTERNOON. can it shower from a clear sky?
