  1. every once in awhile one of these surprises, like 1 out 25. Maybe this is the one but probably not.
  2. euro is much drier for the region...1 inch average 2 inches here and there but isolated
  3. I have to doubt the dual low thing. Seems odd for such a strong system. My guess is one low, closer to the coast.
  4. yes, the system is a quick developer and also a fast mover-in and out in about 12 hrs.
  5. Keep in mind the Euro is often overdone on winds. However even if you cut back by 25-30%, still a good event
  6. yeah that run is worthless in that regard there will not be 3 lows
  7. 2 inches for most-jackpot of 3 over western/northern CT
  8. GFS also progressive and east-an inch of rain for the area give or take but a quicker mover.
  9. early snows are indicative of a crappy winter. Last year and 2011 are examples of winters with Oct/Early Nov snows that ended up crappy
  10. a bit out of range but the NAM is well offshore with the low
  11. even at that it was a 30-35 day winter, once the pattern broke down around 2/1 it was warm and mainly snowless the rest of the way
  12. gusty winds and mid level cloud deck here with some breaks of sun from time to time, 61 degrees
  13. NHC has named the storm-subtropical Melissa with winds of 65mph
  14. precip shield struggling to move west....dry air here, 66/40. Not sure it will make it through that.
  15. GFS had some wet runs too-NAM bad as well. Euro seemed to back off outside that epic run from a couple of days ago, dry, but not dry enough
  16. all one has to do is look at the radar to see it's not happening the way it was progged 2 days ago
  17. rain making a decent push west in CT...let's see how far west it can get, airmass is fairly dry here 66/48
  18. We say modeling is better but we're still prone to busts such as this one. Up to 64 here....maybe a run at 70? LOL. on a personal note glad we got a good drink yesterday-badly needed here.
  19. partly sunny here and 60. Breezy. Big ol bust as most forecasts had a wind/rainstorm all day.
  20. I'm thinking not much even here and I'm 60 miles northeast of NYC....New haven and eastern end of LI may get some moderate rains. Big bust in Boston too-models had 3-6 inches-nothing even close to that will actually happen
  21. RGEM and GFS say we're mostly done, the NAMS bring some rain back to NYC tonight.
  22. models did poorly on this storm-Tue night they had the big rains today-instead we get the rains yesterday and today is cloudy to partly cloudy....
  23. western end of the precip breaking up and becoming more showery. Will be interesting to see how far west the 2nd round gets
