    Incoming Columbia! It was 84 before first waves of clouds and breezes moved in.

    I’m convinced that stench of death is the dead cicadas. I smell that putrid smell everywhere when walking in the woods. It started shortly after the insect onslaught.

    East side of Columbia: 47 degrees at 6am. Weekend rainfall was 1.42" on my often-lowballing rain gauge.

    Camped at New Germany State Park Tues-Thursday this week. Beautiful weather altho it poured Wed nite. Timed it just right for once, glad I didn't select this weekend for camping. Down to 51 in Columbia at 6am. About 1.2" so far (at 6am Saturday) for this event, with rain ongoing.

    Observed what appeared to be melted snowflakes on car windshield heading on I-70-east at HoCo-Balto County line. Car thermometer was down to 44 at that time. Back up to 49 by the time I reached I-695.

    8am Columbia -- been snowing lightly for a few minutes. Immediate deck stickage. Temp bottomed-out overnite at 26.1 Was 27 at dawn/6am. And 29 with snow onset.
