  1. Almost dusk, first time I’ve noticed ice-lined trees today. But not big-time ice. Tiny icicles melting from deck rail. Looks like temps finally starting to rise. Now 30.8, up about 1 degree in past hour.
  2. Temp has been steady at 29.9 for a few hours. Lite rain and no iciness on walkways or roads.
  3. Running errands. More salt on roads than snow. Roads just wet.
  4. Onset of lite flurries at 11:10.
  5. 27 with high-overcast-but-brighter skies to the south.
  6. Drove Columbia =>IAD=>Columbia starting 2:15 Only took 3-3/4 hrs round-trip.
  7. Pretty much a wet snow in Columbia, 38 IMBY. Heading out to IAD for a drop-off -- should be fun -- NOT!
  8. And within 5 mins, mostly snow and temp 39.4
  9. 40.1 -- onset of drizzle with an isolated wet flake here and there on east side of Columbia.
  10. 29.7 IMBY at 6:30am Must go to IAD this afternoon at 3:30 == could be un-fun.
  11. An isolated flake here and there, 36 degrees.
  12. Distinct chill developing in the air now with N-NE low-level flow and a breeze. Late afternoon hi temp of 57 down to 44 @ 8:30.
  13. Today’s temps IMBY east side of Columbia: Hi 27, low 17 (also the lowest for the ‘19-‘20 winter season) 22.3 currently @ 7:45 — ought to beat last night’s 17 easily I would think.
  14. Haven't checked the stats, but it feels to me like it seems to have been that way for most of the summer, too.
  15. Not much movement in temps past 2 days: 12/16 — 34/33 12/17 — 37/34
  16. Temps have been rock-steady at 33 since I first checked at 6am. Rose from 33.1 to 33.8 currently.
  17. 33.1 current and low temp, on east side of Columbia. Eyeballing more than 1/2" and less than 1".
  18. 7:30 pm -- down to 37° in Columbia, east side. Nice temp drops, as others have reported. Skies mostly clear. The cold air arriving just in time, just ahead of the moisture .... for a change. I did notice on a live TV DC shot on (probably a cable news channel or maybe Redskins game), it looked like a few clouds were scattered around DC in late in the afternoon. For any one in DC: did those clouds clear up, or ..... ?? (trying to compute about how many more good hours in Columbia we may have for temps to keep falling before increasing clouds slow up the downward trend)
  19. Time-sensitive but a nice blow-up of clouds early this evening just south of S-ern NC.
  20. Columbia flurries beginning/trying to stick to car tops and deck. 34.2°
  21. Columbia, 6:15pm: a few flurries, 34°
  22. Some sky-brightening looking SW from Columbia.
