  1. Finally got into the good stuff about 30 mins ago.
  2. Pouring to the left of me, Banding to the right, Here I am stuck in the middle .....
  3. Activity slowly picking up again. 29.7 degrees
  4. EXTENDED FORECAST DISCUSSION NWS WEATHER PREDICTION CENTER COLLEGE PARK MD 1103 AM EST SUN JAN 13 2019 VALID 12Z WED JAN 16 2019 - 12Z SUN JAN 20 2019 ..CALIFORNIA HEAVY PRECIPITATION WED-THU ...COLD AIR SURGES THROUGH THE NORTH-CENTRAL U.S. LATER THIS WEEK... ..CENTRAL TO EASTERN U.S. HEAVY RAIN/SNOW THREAT NEXT WEEKEND
  5. 9:40am -- went out out 9am to do Shoveling Round #1. Good timing as a lull moved in near end of shoveling. At 9am, measured about 5.0"-5.25" .... and then probably a decent 0.5" more while shoveling for 1/2 hr before the lull, so approaching 5.5"-6.0" OTG before any compacting during lull. Current temp is at the low for the day at 26.5° after being about 27-28 at midnite. Steady, very lite snow continuing.
  6. 6:30am: 25.6° with snow falling. Coffee-ing up and then will go out for first round of shovelling and will measure. But eyeballing, looks like 5"
  7. Am supposed to have a band job tonite at Londontowne Grill until 1am. Not looking good
  8. [Old news, but from NCEP's 1/12/19 @ 3:30am heavy Snow Discussion] A COASTAL LOW WILL BEGIN TO DEVELOP ALONG THE CAROLINA COAST SUNDAY MORNING. WITH DEEPER COLD AIR IN PLACE, WARM ADVECTION SPREADING EAST OF THE MOUNTAINS FOLLOWED BY ADDITIONAL PRECIPITATION WEST OF THE DEVELOPING LOW MAY CONTRIBUTE TO SOME SIGNIFICANT SNOW/SLEET AMOUNTS FARTHER TO THE NORTH. A CONTINUED TREND TOWARD HIGHER SNOW ALONG THE LOW LEVEL WARM FRONT OVER THE CENTRAL MID-ATLANTIC IS SUPPORTED BY LOW DAY 1 WPC PROBABILITIES FOR 8 INCHES THAT BLEED EAST FROM THE BLUE RIDGE OVER CENTRAL VA.
  9. A decent line moving SE-ward from State College to CLE, altho I doubt it holds together for central MD.
  10. Finally a burst of graupel ..... trying to become flakes.
  11. Wouldn't be the least bit surprising. My friends in Middletown, NY (just above-and-northeast of the northern tip of NJ, with an elevation approx 1000-1200 feet in general) had a little snow yesterday and always seem to be in a sweet spot for snow during changeovers. I have to live vicariouly thru them sometimes. While we're at 42 and partly cloudy, they can be 32 with snow. I get too many snow pix from them! :-)
  12. Columbia: Bust: Partial sunshine this afternoon Boon: A solid hour of mood flakes
  13. I've noticed the northern extent of the precip has been stuck at TN all day -- time for a change! http://sirocco.accuweather.com/sat_mosaic_640x480_public/rs/isarun.gif
  14. IMBY reached coldest temp so far this season at 19.8; maybe will go another fraction of a degree lower before sunrise (?)
  15. Looks like showtime would be in late Sun/early Mon time frame (192 thru 198). Can we pls speed that up by 24 hours or so? Don't like those delayed arrivals.
