0.98” rain + melted snow — Columbia.

8:30am Monday morning Columbia imby low 29, current 30. Just shoveled a couple inches (will measure soon; looks like maybe +/- 3” considering compaction) and cleaned off cars. Pretty easy. Yeah we missed the big snows but I’m happy with a rewhitened wintry look for 2, maybe 3 days, as everything slowly melts away with no back-breaking effort needed. Sun trying to poke thru amid constant flurries/snowshowers.

I missed out on the big January storm so I’m enjoying this. From the get-go I was thinking for me that 2 inches is a bust, 3-6 acceptable, and 7 inches a boom. So I’ll just enjoy what little bit I get and I’ll rationalize it’s all ok …. by saying well, I got a total re-whitening, I can enjoy it for two days then it’ll mostly be gone, no heavy shoveling or chipping out chunks of ice, just going to enjoy it — in the snowlight. It’s a good night for a snowlight. So far eyeballing 1”+ on deck rail. After falling a few degrees the temperature seems to have leveled off at least for the last hour or so at 33.3°/Columbia. All white except sidewalks and streets. Even driveway finally is whitening.

Ahhhhh, my old ‘ hood and haunts back in the day. Spring Hill Rd.

I missed the big January snow so am enjoying this, whatever I get. After being at 37+ earlier in afternoon, down to 35.3 under mod-hvy Columbia snowpuke.

Slightly better, more wet flakes mixing in with rain at the moment. Temp fell 0.1° past 1/2 hour after slightly rising earlier. 36.4°

9:15am Columbia— seeing first wet flakes falling among raindrops. At a morning high of 36.5, up 0.5° in last hour.

Midnight 36.5. Temps dropped to 34.0 overnight before light rain arrived. Temp then went up to current 36.0 with light rain. Gonna be watching and waiting for drops of fractions of a degree today.

Lived in McLean for 8 years a bit south of Great Falls Park. Snow did seem to accumulate well — and better — there. Always enjoyed drive home from work in DC heading north up GW Pkwy to McLean/Great Falls, enjoyed watching how the snowpack got better the further up the Pkwy I got. DC green, McLean white.

I’m at T-minus 3 hours until Indian Restaurant and some Taj Mahal.

Just recently back from the island of Culebra, PR. Last PR island east of mainland PR, before one heads east toward St. John/USVI. We had sunny days 85/ mornings 75.

0.64” with latest rain.

A surprisingly low 33.5 for hi temp today. Down to 27 at 8pm. Looks like good night to see some stars from deck. Modtly clear, moonrise not until sometime near/before dawn. Been noticing how smooth the top of the snow still looks. No footprints. This stuff was/still may be a challenge to walk on and play in up until now, but tops seem finally to be softening some now with warming … plus that increasing sun angle.

Hi temp Friday imby/Columbia was only 33.5. Thought I’d do better than that today. Felt ok with no wind. Low this morning 20.4
