    I refuse to use the propane heater, costs so freaking much for a few hours of enjoyment....the solar cover however has bumped the temp to 77° as of this afternoon, should be good to use for a couple of days, might even be good until the end of the month if temps in the 70/80 range with lows in the 60s continue

    Threw the solar cover on 2 days ago, added 4 degrees so far....at this rate we maybe swimming into October (without the assistance of a heater)

    We leased our minivan 3.5 years ago, never would have thought we were going to buy out the lease in the end. The agreed amount was $22,400 at the time, well we just bought the van. Our van, right now if we were to buy it used with the same amount of miles is roughly $35,000.

    sungolds? Ours went nuts this year, I have tomato plants that I thought were done for after 10 inches of rain the beginning of July, but they bounced back and have been non stop since then....

    I am intrigued by Pawpaws, might have to plant a few....Planted 1 peach, grafted pear, and 4 apples....I have room to plant another 4-6 trees, just haven't been able to make the decision which ones to go with. The wife and kids want ducks, so I guess that will be added to the list.

    My garden hopes it stays warm through early October, but it has already hit 46 this month, I suspect I get some frost before the month is over....50.0 this morning

    yeah that area of crazy rainfall barely made it here, it tried but kept "drying" up until the last minute. That is ok though, almost 11 inches the last 30 days is more than enough

    Dry slot now, roughly 1.5" so far...you can already see the precip building towards Long Island, going to be a pretty intense few hours coming up

    already over 1.25" here and pouring again.....I can see some of those crazy numbers happening if the stuff in PA makes it up here

    The amount of rain being squeezed out in central PA is amazing, there are going to be some 12"+ amounts in there, the Susquehanna River is going to be quite impressive in a day or two. The computer models did a great job zeroing in on that area jackpotting

    In other words, the baby is going to decide to come overnight tonight. That trip to Danbury should be fun. Steady rain right now, pushing 0.2" already, can't wait for an additional 4-8 inches later....

    More forecasts of 2-4" and 3-6" of rain this year than of snowfall? A good stretch of 70s/50s after Thursday, the pool is going to cool down pretty quickly at that rate.

    What kind of heat pump system do you have? I am looking to covert from oil to a heat pump system. I am concerned about the coldest winter periods being too cold for the heating system's efficiency.

    My bill 2 months ago, without solar was $420. Pool, central air, 3 kids. 2600 square foot. Solar was only up and running for 20 days and it went down to $85.00 the past month. Our average bill before solar was 230 per month our monthly solar bill is less than that and our payoff is around 8 years.
