Wasn't there some crazy inverted trough that dumped up to a foot of snow around here? It was well before I lived up here, so I have no clue when it was, but remember someone talking about it....
Just saw that....I believe the 0z CMC showed something similar. It's only 48 hours out, what could go wrong?! Lol, honestly any snow falling from the sky would be a win at this point
It has that feeling doesn't it? Couldn't even squeeze out a single legit snowflake yesterday. This is probably the latest in my short 7 years up here to at least see some snowflakes, let alone accumulation. Half the time I have seen them before the end of October...The way I look at it, the less we see, the more memorable they will become as the season barrels on.
All of my power tools/chainsaw/weed whacker/hedge trimmer are battery powered(milwaukee brand). My riding mower and push mower are still gas, but hope to switch over soon. As far as the vehicles, I think the plug in hybrid is the way to go for now, at least until the charging infrastructure changes. I test drove the new Sorento plugin-hybrid was fun and on my short list.
All rake here, I have 2 kids capable of raking...I rake the heavily accumulated areas, then bag mulch the rest with the mower so I can add them to my compost and garden beds.
I agree... I am actually in the need for an AWD vehicle to fit the Brady bunch. Used cars are priced like new cars and you can't find a decent new car that you don't have to special order at a premium price. Kicker is I want something that doesn't guzzle gas, so the chip shortage is hindering things quite a bit.
All the more reason to stick with the basic needs and screw the rest of the "stuff". Unfortunately these supply issues have/will trickle into the basic needs department. Honestly, my kids do not need this season's Barbie nor do I need the newest Iphone or 8k tv...Honestly the environment needs senseless consumerism to take a backseat for quite some time.
Another morning in the 20s, 23.7⁰ for the low....sun is out, not a cloud in the sky.
Oaks holding strong here, the red maples let go yesterday...still quite a bit of leaves on the trees though. Took this yesterday.
I find microclimates quite fascinating as well.....20.7° for the low this morning and the lowest so far this season. The last 5 mornings: 28.0°, 22.6°, 22.5°, 21.2°, and 20.7°. The afternoon highs have averaged 54°.
22.6°, ground frozen solid....testing out the new wood stove insert the past 2 nights, still 61 to 63 degrees in the house despite not reloading past midnight. Haven't used an mL of oil yet
