  1. Portland wouldn't have hit 116⁰ if the dewpoints were in the mid to upper 70s. I'm sure our dewpoints were not this excessive prior to our CC Era and it weren't for the dews now, we would have hit 100⁰ countless times over the past decade.
  2. 88.4⁰/76⁰, hopefully some rain in the near future....
  3. Lots of clouds here, 79/73 soupy mix here....when the sun does peak out it is hard to breathe, can't wait for tomorrow/Tuesday
  4. Planted late May...always worried about that late frost, especially around here. I usually start my own, but haven't built a greenhouse at this house yet, so I bought them from a local farm. I should be able to pick my first cherry tomato this weekend.
  5. Tomatoes without watering for 2 days....holding up pretty well, but in well need of a natural watering.
  6. Thanks! Took us almost 6 years to find our "forever home" for us and our kids. This was a hidden gem in a small neighborhood filled with kids our children's ages. Although I will have a shortened growing season, until I build temporary hoophouses for my peppers and tomatoes. 41⁰ this morning
  7. Grass is stressed, but not dead despite getting sun almost all day long....garden is happy, but needs some watering every couple days
  8. Wait, moving? Staying in Southbury I see....
  9. 44.1⁰ this morning, windows open, birds singing...only 0.25 inches yesterday, stein in full control here
  10. Same here....tornado warning for Westchester County last night, fizzled to nothing here. Hope to get something here today.
  11. I sure hope so, garden is beginning to stress out a bit....river levels are still much higher than last year at this time. So there is at least that. Living on a well now, stress levels are higher than normal, lol...
  12. Steined here, as of most of this Spring...0.06" Happy Father's Day to all out there!
  13. Do very odd looking clouds out there...
  14. Thoughts on something brewing along the east coast in the 8-12 day time frame? It kinda has that tropical look to the flow....
  15. 1 day trip to Delaware yesterday, came home at midnight to a frigid house. 39.7⁰ this morning. Is this really June?
  16. Pouring out there after we had some storms earlier....pushing 0.75" of well needed rainfall. We have definitely been steined of late
  17. Thunder coming in from the west...I can't remember the last time I had morning storms.
  18. 51 for the low here, currently a light fog with the sun breaking through....birds chirping in all directions Let's keep this going all summer please....
  19. Kids hate it, probably dropped the pool temp quite a bit...it actually hit 83⁰ yesterday. Quite impressive for June 10th, without the use of solar cover or heater
  20. 48 lovely degrees this morning....
  21. I might have to wait until the morning....it always seems like it takes longer than expected down here. I hope I am wrong
  22. I will wait to see what direction Covid decides to take before I make a decision on whether my children get the vaccine. However, at this point I would feel safer having them get this vaccine than I would taking them to eat at McDonalds everyweek or feeding them hormone enhanced Franken meats. The longterm effects on our population being fed the food we are today has not yet been studied and highly questionable if we really want to go down that road.....
  23. trying hard to make a run at 5 straight days of 90+, currently 89.2/72....ready for open windows!
  24. Going to be some heavy rainfall with what looks to be slow movers....we had a 5 minute downpour yesterday that dropped almost a tenth of an inch. Raindrops looked like they were the size of ping pong balls.
