Keep it warm...I would prefer open windows to air conditioners, so might be ok moving into June. I would like to get my garden planted, 80s are welcomed next week

Just got my second yesterday morning. Mowed my entire almost 2 acre property afterwards, played bball with my kid yesterday evening. Woke up today, feel like I have a mild case of the flu. First shot gave me a pounding headache with a side of fatigue for a couple of days. I have a family member, 60s that was recently really ill. Said person is one who believes that this virus is some government hoax, it's nothing more than getting a bad cold. Refused to be tested or even go to a doctor. Well, they became part of the 99% that made it. Just last week her doctor thought said she had lung cancer because she has been having issues breathing while doing everyday things. Turns out it's not cancer thankfully, but severe scaring in her lungs from a recent illness. But they survived, she may very well be like this the rest of her life and could knock an x - amount of years off of her life as well. These stories aren't rare, like some people want you to believe and that is not a MSM talking point, that is just the facts. I don't fear Covid, like I don't fear driving to the grocery store, or even cooking chicken. But I always wear my seat belt and wash my hands after handling raw chicken. Some people act like wearing a mask while at the grocery store, during a pandemic, is equal to giving up a kidney to a stranger....

32.4 at 5:30 am here, already up to 67.5 off of a high of 71.1 yesterday....what a roller coaster

I do love taking the dog out first thing, feel that crisp air at the same time you can feel the warmth of the sun on your face

Crazy here...

It sucks, unless I put up a temporary hoophouse, my growing season is going to start later and be cut short. But I do look forward to hitting -20 at some point, that should be fun, lol

31.6⁰ this morning, please let that be the last...get my second shot today, of course the best weather of the spring is coming up.

When my family moved to CT, I decided to stay home rather than spend 2+ grand per month in daycare costs. It was an adjustment, but our family adapted and I believe it was for the better...more time spent as a family by far, happier kids, happier parents...

Certainly is a pit, but a picturesque one at least....the diurnal ranges have been pretty impressive since we moved here. There have been a few instances that we are 15+ degrees different from the OXC numbers, we are roughly 9 miles away

Solid frost/freeze here....RIP any plants not ready for that

Got down to 30.0 this morning, the rest of the week looks great.

If one looks at this pandemic from strictly an ecological perspective, Covid has done what other diseases have done to other animal species when they become over populated, putting a strain on the environment. Typically the older/vulnerable population is largely affected. I'm not saying that is what this is, just something to discuss at the "water cooler"....

My wife and I are both scientists, she works in Pharma and we will choose to not vaccinate the kids until longer term studies have been done....We are both pro vaccine, but respect the long term studies on children that are still going through development. In the case of children, I think the benefits from the vaccine are not worth the unknowns from the long terms side effects that may exist when compared to their current risk from contracting Covid...for those in adulthood, I think it is a different story. My position on children could change if the virus becomes more virulent in children, which is still a possibility.
-
Yup, a good parent is there to protect their kids. Way too much unknowns with the virus to say they will be fine. I am not locking them up in a bubble, but I am also not sending them off to covid parties either. They wear seatbelts in the car, they wash their hands after going to the bathroom (they will acutally put their mask on without asking more often, I am still fighting them to wash their hands after the bathroom) My wife is pregnant and that is a whole different story. I am in the middle of being vaccinated, when finished I will remain on the safer side of things for the sake of my children and wife. Sometimes it just means doing things that reduce risk, like going to Costco in the evenings instead of Saturday afternoon, a mask when I am indoors. I do not find myself inconvenienced at all, sitting in traffic is more annoying than putting a mask on at a grocery store and definitely worse for my health. My life is actually better with not eating at restaurants, I have saved a ton of money and definitely healthier. But to each their own I guess.....
-
With the relaxing of mandates put on indoor activites such as restaurants, I would assume as long as less than 60-70 percent of the population remains unvaccinated or not protected from infection that the case numbers will continue to remain at higher levels. Covid seems to be very good at finding a host, especially with the increase in mutations being a bit more contagious. There does seem to be a bit of seasonal variation, so the case numbers should start dropping from increased vax and summer weather...Fall and winter should be telling with regards to how well the vaccines are actually working...Without antibody testing (accurately) everyone in the country, we may never really know just how many may have partial or full immunity moving forward.

yeah, I put a bit down hoping we had enough warm days sprinkled in, but the overnight temps didn't help matters....Definitely have to wait until late summer/early fall at this point

I put down Milorganite a couple weeks ago, the recent rains have been perfect for the spring "greenup".

We bought in August of last year....there were multiple offers on the first day. We were told by our good friend, who was also our realtor to not ask for anything, basically a take it or leave it situation. Just spoke to him recently and he said he would probably list our house for 80 to 100k more than we paid for it, just 9 months ago. It seems like 4 bedroom houses are a hot commodity right now...

I had just bought a ticket to board the Stein train, but thankfully it was fully refundable....1.24" last night, it seems like the grass greened up within hours

77.5/45 with a mix of sun and clouds, nice day

81.2⁰/48⁰...hot

Either they had covid 19 or some other coronavirus and the first dose triggered a reaction due to t-cell memory? I know so many people that had no reaction to the first and only some fatigue with the 2nd. I just had my first on Wednesday, this morning is the first time I have felt "normal", headache and fatigue the past couple of days. Can't wait for my second one, yuck... My 84 year old grandmother with multiple comorbidities had no reaction to either of the doses. I understand the older you are, the weaker your immune system is, but you would expect some sort of reaction on the second dose...
-
Just had my first Pfizer on Wednesday, 24-36 hrs of fatigue and headache...took a long nap yesterday, woke up today feeling pretty good....should be interesting to see what my adaptive response is, seems like us "younger" folk are having more side effects from the first dose

Going to have to drive up the hill to see accumulations....will probably look like the October snow, will be able to see it snowing from my backyard, while it is all rain here
-
From 29.7⁰ this morning to 71.8⁰ this afternoon....what a glorious day, can't they all be like this? We could use some rain though, definitely do not want to have to worry about wells this summer.
