  1. 170ish...I agree, just enough on the grass for the kids to sled a few minutes before it becomes a muddy mess, but it is October, anything would be great to see
  2. If I recall there was a system recently, (last year maybe) that did just this...the system was marginal to begin with, but everyone was ready for 2-5 inches of snow and within 6-12 hours of the event it all went down hill and it was 35 and rain for all except for those in the highest of elevations. I almost expect that out of October "snow" regardless of computer forecasting
  3. 2-3 on the nams and the 6z Euro for around here...should be a good test for my valley location. Nice steady rain today...
  4. The name....been meaning to change that forever, the unfortunate nickname through school, (Shank is the actual last name). That trough has been getting more impressive with time. Hopefully this isn't another year of brutal cold and dry airmasses that last for 2-3 days, followed up by warmth and inches of rain....GEFS have had a trough in the west/ridge in the east pattern, but some blocking over top even into Alaska, better than the pig at least...
  5. Snow squalls flying on Monday? Might look more like late December than early November , at least for a day....Lets warm it until Turkey Day afterwards
  6. 27.9⁰ for the low, even had ice in a bucket by the house....
  7. 1.97" of rain here in the desert region. Going to be a cold one, already down to 39.4...
  8. Just a nice steady rain for the past several hours, pushing a half in so far it seems....
  9. Thanks, yeah the grass was a deep green in most locations and will probably take off with tomorrow's rain and no real cold for a couple of weeks.
  10. Actually had to mow this evening, hopefully the last of the season... Colors are really starting to pop down here too!
  11. I missed both of them living in Delaware, so I guess I am due? 18 inches has been the max for me since I have been here. I saw 36" during the blizzard of 96 living in PA, but was only 13 at the time and can't recall too much. Living in rural PA at the time, I remember being truly snowed in for days.15 ft snow drift on 1 road and a 12 foot drift on the other. Needed equipment from Erie to get the roads cleared.
  12. I hate to say, it can't get worse than last year, because it could and the way things are going it might...lol
  13. A light version of 2014/15...light snow and 10 degrees while eastern CT is S++, can't wait
  14. This is very true, let's run these low pressures into RI all winter long and shovel our way to above normal precip by April....
  15. 0.20" of rain this morning, at least there is something...would be happier with 2.00"
  16. that would definitely put a dent in this "drought"
  17. After last year, day by day is probably the best way to go...but yeah, expectations are low. I didn't get to experience 2010/2011 up here, so let's go and do it again!
  18. No pigs please.... hopefully the blocking we have seen recently has something to do with the solar min and not some random garbage. Possibly seeing some rounds of blocking this winter. Probably the typical massive swings 0 to 60 degrees in 24 hrs with little snow retention with and average winter is what we can hope for I guess....
  19. So the the stronger we get here, the more it can impact our region.... Great, our winter was looking grim before, now we might as well go full ratter at this point. So the wild card could be the solar min. Expectations remain low going into October.
  20. 34.2 here, looks like another perfect day....
  21. Only got down to 41 last night, heavy fog this morning. Despite the low 60s for temps yesterday, the sun felt almost hot. Should be a fantastic weekend...
  22. No piggies please....September through March, but it is 2020, so why not
  23. Will take anything at this point, 1-3 inches state wide sounds good. Reading a thread from our old town and it seems like there are quite a few people experiencing well issues over the past week
  24. This guy has been around 2 out of the last 3 nights....first at 430 am and last night at 815 pm, 5 minutes after I had the dog out. I do not really want to run into him.
  25. .08 overnight, first measurable since September 11th with hopefully another 1-3 inches this week....
