    Yup, just filled up the tank at $2.50/gallon. I can't imagine what it will be come January, can't wait to swap the old oil tank for a heat pump system.

    52⁰ at 7:30, might be seeing our first frost by morning. Forecast is 44⁰, probably push 35⁰ by morning here in radiator springs, Southbury....

    Top photo taken today, bottom taken last year on this date. We seem to be a bit behind this year, at least around here. The "drought" last year probably had something to do with it....

    42.6⁰ here as well....frost is coming this week, might even touch freezing here if all things go right

    Fog then some clouds slowed the temp drop, bottomed out around 44⁰. Should see our first frost here this week if clouds aren't an issue...

    Too early to say -AO and -NAO ftw? Nice trough in the east otherwise...my photo memories reminded me that I had frosts 2 days in a row last year around this time. The lowest I have hit so far is 44.1 on the morning of the 11th

    72 for the low here, ties my highest low temp of the entire year....needed to wait until September 23rd to get to that point, sheesh

    Pulled the solar cover off this morning, 78⁰ water temp...currently 85/72 air temp, what month is this?

    I have to LOL at this, this is what I tell my kids who whine that the pool is too cold at 75 degrees....I am only 38, but spent most of my life at the beach, swimming in Delaware waters of less than 70 for the most part...I prefer 80 plus at this point if I am lounging in a pool. Although I remember riding waves at 60ish degrees, no wetsuit, chattering, blue lips at the age of 10 I am lucky with the sun, solar cover works well here, but for most of CT not so much....

    I refuse to use the propane heater, costs so freaking much for a few hours of enjoyment....the solar cover however has bumped the temp to 77° as of this afternoon, should be good to use for a couple of days, might even be good until the end of the month if temps in the 70/80 range with lows in the 60s continue

    Threw the solar cover on 2 days ago, added 4 degrees so far....at this rate we maybe swimming into October (without the assistance of a heater)

    We leased our minivan 3.5 years ago, never would have thought we were going to buy out the lease in the end. The agreed amount was $22,400 at the time, well we just bought the van. Our van, right now if we were to buy it used with the same amount of miles is roughly $35,000.

    sungolds? Ours went nuts this year, I have tomato plants that I thought were done for after 10 inches of rain the beginning of July, but they bounced back and have been non stop since then....

    I am intrigued by Pawpaws, might have to plant a few....Planted 1 peach, grafted pear, and 4 apples....I have room to plant another 4-6 trees, just haven't been able to make the decision which ones to go with. The wife and kids want ducks, so I guess that will be added to the list.

    My garden hopes it stays warm through early October, but it has already hit 46 this month, I suspect I get some frost before the month is over....50.0 this morning

    yeah that area of crazy rainfall barely made it here, it tried but kept "drying" up until the last minute. That is ok though, almost 11 inches the last 30 days is more than enough
