  1. Amazing the difference in look, especially being "only" 7-8 days out. One of them should start to cave fairly soon I would think. This is a pretty large scale pattern, versus a system possibly phasing or how close to the coast it might be...
  2. -NAO flexing a bit? Looks like the whole system slows down...
  3. I am thinking about moving my Davis somewhere else on the property, but currently is in a perfect position relative to trees/sun/house. It just so happens to be at the lowest point of the property. Might add a second weather station. Any good recommendations that aren't on on the Davis level of cost but have a good thermometer/hygrometer combo?
  4. That is definitely the icebox for CT....only 18.9⁰ here that morning.
  5. I am no professional when looking at the long range ensembles, but that to my untrained eye did not look very good....reminded me a bit of that map you posted from 2011 a couple days back.
  6. I know right? Just thought it looked off, not trying to be "that guy".... Plenty of winter to go
  7. Looks like the sleet line is right over head here.....it was a good start to the season, hoping to use the shovel sooner rather than later. 34.7/28.0
  8. GEFS at 18z looked a tad bit hostile towards the end, except for a bit a ridging in Greenland. Hopefully just a blip and not a trend....
  9. 40/23 atm with a few random sleet pellets falling from the sky...first frozen of the season for here
  10. last night the wood stove was cooking, hit 82° in the living room....I did not add another log after 10 pm and it was still 66° when I woke up this morning. Not too bad despite the 18.9° temp this morning
  11. 18.9° this morning, setting the stage for at least the first flakes tonight. 12z HRRR has it's coldest run down here so far, at least a few hours of frozen precip, possibly even a slushy inch
  12. I have 4 kids, their health always comes before the "look" of my yard, no chemicals and tick prevention, rake all the leaves and cut the grass pretty low before winter sets in. Otherwise I would leave the leaves go and let nature do what it does with them....
  13. And just like that, 3:45 pm the sun is just about gone. You can feel the chill as soon as it sets over that ridge...some of the reason we radiate so well, the sun disappears so early. 53/19 atm
  14. 76/63 at 9:55 am on November 7th....shorts/t-shirt and still sweating. Sun feels hot, I fully expect to see snow within the next 2 weeks
  15. Amazing that I could take out and leave the Meyer lemon tree on November 5th/6th....there have been a ton of bumblebees and honeybees on it the past few days. Low of 56⁰ here.
  16. 77.7° so far this afternoon.....quite breezy too
  17. Ha, that is part of the anti-squirrel setup
  18. Just saw two of these beauties at the feeder today. Seem to be a rarish find down here from what I have read....
  19. Just the standard wireless Vantage Pro 2.... Wife doesn't think the $400 upgrade is necessity right now, or ever, lol
  20. Frozen. Crazy thing was, there was a station a few miles up the road that was 21.6⁰, the sandy soil combined with being in the valley is the perfect storm for radiating
  21. 22.3⁰ for the low here....should rebound well today, 65⁰?
  22. No thunder here, but it has been pouring the past hour...still need the rain around here
