  1. Kids wanted me to upload the video, so here it is...Dont mind the over dramatic children in the yard, LOL. Watching it spill over the hill was pretty amazing, then the walls of snow were impressive as well.....
  2. Well that was a fun 5 minutes....can we just get that to last for at least an hour?
  3. Late February sun angle, its a killer.....
  4. Suns out now....Not sure I have ever seen 0.3" vaporize so quickly, temp now up to 33.7
  5. beautiful out there right now...the kids went flying outside to play, lol. The ground whitened up pretty quickly, temp down to 32.0/23
  6. Very light snow here, 35.2⁰/15.4⁰.... Got down to 12⁰ this morning, so the ground is frozen again, should aid in whitening up the ground quickly
  7. Only 30.9⁰ right now, off a low of 27⁰....if I had a pack to protect, it would still be frozen, lol....I'm sure it will be 60⁰ in a couple hours once the wind picks up....OXC, just 10 minutes away was 46⁰ last hour
  8. Ugghh, still clear here under light winds....full moon shining bright, already radiated down to 29⁰
  9. I have no clue what I average here, maybe 40-45 inches? If so, that is the same here.....going to be tough with the current weather pattern. Maybe we get a lucky March storm this year, last year we had zero snow in March
  10. 3.1" final tally here as well....sun is poking through the clouds as the dewpoint begins to drop. I would assume we are done here here with the drier air moving in....
  11. I could be wrong, but I feel like the CFS had done pretty well this winter. We all know the weeklies have blown for the most part. But maybe the CFS has been bashed too much? As long as there is cold air left in Canada, snowy "surprises" like today can still happen in the shorter term
  12. 3 inches here.....Spring sun is here though, 28.1⁰ and things are melting quickly now that the snow stopped. Beautiful outside right now
  13. Yup, more clouds than sun here, combined with gusty winds have made for an ok day, definitely does not feel like 55 degrees though....
  14. 12k jackpots me under some random band....4-6 inches with nothing on either side of it, I'm sure that is right
  15. I am far from optimistic, especially with the way this season has gone....However, day 4 is an eternity this year, if we were bulls eyed 4 days out I still wouldn't expect much. Knowing that there is going to be some push westward from ridging off shore gives me pause, even a CMC solution is plausible. If there isn't much shift going into Friday, then I would assume this one is DOA
  16. It probably is, that model never holds a solution...but then again most of the models don't seem to lock anything this year.
  17. Well, temp is finally dropping here in death Valley....down to 32.9⁰ after being stuck near 37⁰ all day
  18. Temp down to 36.1 after a high of 43....no where near the cold front here in the valley, just melting snow acting like an ice cube with calm winds
  19. Yup, wiped clean here....I have noticed though, at least here in this valley if there isn't any wind. The snowpack melting from rainfall acts like an ice cube and keeps the temps lower. If the wind picks up, then the cold air is mixed out pretty quickly...
  20. My pack is melting as we speak with sun and 47, can't wait to see what happens with heavy rain
  21. Thanks PF, great information and love the breakdown to the nearest mile, great stuff! I am sure I will have plenty of questions and will send you PM instead of cluttering up the forum. Despite missing the big one this past weekend, we have had snow cover for more than 3 weeks, so I really cannot complain this year...it could be worse. It would be nice to go spend the week at the cabin, just to feed the need for snow....I love the beach, but there is something about hiking right after a fresh snowfall.
  22. I have been looking for properties that have existing wells/septic systems. That would help skip a few steps to start. My wife wants to make this place a vacation spot/potential retirement location so she wants it to be the perfect cabin. So, we are open to a fixer upper if the price is right. We are in no real hurry, so now is the time to narrow the goalposts. We got a couple quotes from cabin builders and they are sky high right now due to lumber costs, definitely will be waiting on that part. Might have to buy a plot of land and park an RV there for a bit, lol... My kids are just as excited, they want 100+ acres so they can go explore their own forest.
  23. I love the idea of being close to areas with views of the mountains, great summer time adventures, while being close to the Maine coastline. Thanks for the info!
