The only reason they loved him was he made them rich....now his decision to invade Ukraine has led to their financial collapse. They will turn on him pretty quick, their children already have. China expected a quick affair with a few sanctions tossed around, 2014 all over again. Clearly that hasn't happened, the last thing China wants is a long drawn out battle with the risk of nuclear weapons. They may end up being the ones that help put an end to this situation..

We ended up with a Regency insert, would have preferred something freestanding, but with kids running around thought an insert would be safer. I am surprised how well it distributes the heat. Just had my wood stove installed last fall....perfect timing it seems. I filled my 275 gallon oil tank in October. I have used roughly half the tank so far and about 3 cords of wood. I have supplemented heat in my upstairs with a space heater before bed, especially on the cold days when the sun doesn't really heat up the house. The only electricity that I use is what I have banked from my solar production. I have not had an electric bill since my September bill. I paid $200 per cord, 4 cords total at the beginning of the season, paid $2.42 per gallon for the oil, early in the season....

I feel like China, being neighbors to Russia probably will have a say in what Russia could use. The last thing China wants is a Nuclear war in their backyard. The way Russia is being slammed financially, China may decide to take Russia at some point, increase their land and and oil capabilities....

His already financially strapped country is losing a ton of money every day they continue this battle. Who knows how their military is handling covid? Their country is dealing with omicron right now, their vaccine didn't seem to do very well, despite their claims....Hong Kong is a disaster right now, I cant imagine what the Russian army might be dealing with.... The last thing putin needs is to level the country, if he does take it over he wont have any money to rebuild it. To top it off, a majority of the world is going to boycott anything coming from Russia....It really doesn't seem like putin cares anything for his own country at this point.

The Nam only has 0.7" of liquid down here, the axis of heavy precip is well to the north....probably missing something and will suddenly make a huge correction southward. Both Nams down here are straight sleet, little to no snowfall and still fairly cold despite being so far north....So even in this case, we are still mostly frozen around here

Either the Nam is completely wrong or it is on to something....hard to tell at this point. So we toss, for now....

Details of particular storms are not my strong suit, but I remember a few storms that I was forecasted multiple inches of snow, computer models agreed and it ended up being pure sleet at the onset.....I wonder if that is the case in this storm for those close to the shoreline? Sneaky warm layer that never cools down? Who knows, that cold air up north means business this time it seems...

It is 6 mil film, I bought it back in 2017 but I keep using it for these temporary hoops. They are not fancy by any means, but with all day sun I will have beets, lettuce, carrots, radishes, spinach, and onions sprouting by the first week of March. If there is a really cold stretch I can just cover with last year's leaves for a few days. If the snow is too heavy, I will need to remove it. If they were permanent structures, I would add a support down the center and decrease the spacing between the hoops to increase strength. I use pvc brackets to connect to the hoops, they give fairly easy, but that is ok, it actually protects from ripping the film.
