  1. Good, after this winter I need to start checking off the what could go wrong scenarios before expectations rise past a coating that melts by 10 am...
  2. So is there too much of a good thing? When is it congrats mid atlantic?Atlantic? Too much blocking is always a bit scary...
  3. Parachutes @37⁰ now it is sleeting and 35⁰, just can't win this winter, hopefully next week delivers....no accumulation
  4. Yup....just a bit more west coast troughiness, a little less push from the NE with a bit of SER and we will be measuring rain in inches. Hope the models have the right idea for the first time this year at this lead time
  5. All that and I am only out to day 10....what could go wrong!?!?
  6. Yup, since I take photos of almost all of the snowfalls, big and small. Most of them all look the same, except for when my children are pictured waste deep...then I remember all the details
  7. Yeah, I thought we had a chance for a 1-2 week run in February. Clearly that didn't happen, but maybe this is our 1-2 week chance coming up. Looks a lot better than the February chance ever did. Now let's see what can happen to screw things up, lol. I am sitting at 4ish inches for the season....and simple advisory snowfall could double our season total at this point. Maybe we finally get some luck on our side and run the table?
  8. Not sure what to call this....another 0.1" on the season? You can tell where yesterday's 62⁰ sun hit.
  9. JMA has picked up on some big ones in the past if I recall....Not right very often, but like the RGEM I feel like it has led the way every once in a blue moon?
  10. 61⁰ under clear skies, what a forecast bust it seems
  11. I have no use or need for some sleet/frz drizzle or 33 degree rain....I prefer those 70s up here, mid 60s would be just fine as well. Icon is the only one bringing those warm temps into the SW portions of SNE, so it probably is wrong. GFS is 30-34 here around the same time period. Not even close for 100 hrs out
  12. Which was made worse when the group promoting the "fake news" concept promoted their spokesperson to President. They already had their alternative media in place for that group of many people to flock to when they needed someplace else to go. Amazing how much money was made in the past 7 years on the idea of "Fake News". Slowly the Alex Jones of the conspiracy theory world are starting to be exposed for who they really are, fake news and lies for profit. Most of the media out there has some level of bias, but it doesn't take a rocket scientist to see through that. Hopefully we can get back to a world where facts can be facts again and not labeled "fake news" because some guy on YouTube said so(especially when they made a bunch of money because it was shared and clicked on so many times). Frustrating times for scientists around the world.....
  13. Thanks...Its gonna be a rough couple months, hard to watch the kids go through it on top of it. Way too young, not even 7 years old yet.
  14. Oh I hope so...We just got some bad news about our dog, she loves snow and could use one good snow before the inevitable.
  15. Started the sameway this morning, definitely didn't end up the sameway though...If it weren't for clouds most of the day, we would have soared into the 70s, currently 68.5 here
  16. yup, 30.9 here....still only 31.8 at the moment. Front yard is crunchy with low 50s all around me
  17. Woodstove ftw...warm winter though, I have used less than 1/2 a tank and only 2.5 cords of wood so far
  18. My guy has $3.65 cash price, I haven't purchased since October though...
  19. 62⁰ out there right now, but those winds are roaring, got to be pushing 30 mph at times. Just found some daffodils popping up... saw a boat load of geese flying north this morning too. Really high up there, not the ones moving from pond to pond.
  20. Just had what looked like half a dozen fighter jets fly over here...tracking more weather balloons I suppose? Pretty far up there, but so loud
  21. Clouds beginning to thin here, sun should be out within the hour. 34 here at the moment, but 40-45 elsewhere. Should be 60-65 today assuming clouds don't build back in later
  22. It's nice to see the increasing heights continue to push into Greenland from the north and east in the 12-16 day time frame in the EPS/GEFS and sort of GEPS. Definitely squashes the SER a bit more at least. Still haven't broken the 4 inch mark yet, something needs to happen soon.
  23. Yesterday was beautiful, 56⁰, mostly sunny, light winds. Couldn't ask for anything more for February 13th, besides snow of course....
  24. Wasps came out today....spotted a few flying around, didn't take them long.
  25. I just checked, ours is coming up too. If there looks to be another artic outbreak without snow cover, then I will just cover them up with leaves. The concern is over the next couple weeks it will start really growing, then get really cold for a bit. Could damage the plant or stunt their growth.
