  1. Certainly, different beast for sure. We are going to need those rates and hopefully some nighttime snowfall to aid in maximizing snowfall accumulations.
  2. If last night was a preview of what is coming early next week with regards to lack of cold air, then elevation will be key. Obviously intensity will aid in some of the cooling and i am sure everyone will see some flakes. Here, during heavier echos I dipped to 32.4⁰, lighter echos bounced me right back up to 33.5⁰. Classic March snowfall, unless of course there is cold air around.
  3. Just looked outside....can still see grass in spots and can hear the water running through the rainspout. Temp 33.6⁰ with some light rain/snow mix. Maybe an inch? I can see snow on the trees,up on the hill.
  4. Fingers crossed, at least we flipped it finally, even here in a valley. How are things out there? Has to be close
  5. 33.6⁰ and all snow here...coating on all grassy surfaces, now we need some heavy bands to show up
  6. Definitely some parachutes mixed in now, temp continues to drop slow and steady 37.0⁰, 0.15" of rain so far
  7. 0.09" in the bucket so far, still have some time, but the nowcast look of this seems like there won't be much other than some slush
  8. The new Nam looks more realistic now. 3-5" in Litchfield County, 1-3 for most, south of there....
  9. It's trying....temp keeps dropping as the heavier precip comes in, down to 38.7⁰ here at 200'. Still not expecting much, even when it changes over. On top of the hill at 800ish, different story
  10. Pounding raindrops out there atm....40⁰/34⁰ Not sure what to expect at this point
  11. Roasting @ 47°/30°, elevation 200'....going to expect a slushy inch or 2 tomorrow morning. Up on the hill, probably 5 or 6 inches
  12. Even leaves some room for eastern ticks.....will be interesting to watch unfold at least, hopefully with us shoveling. Question is.....does this thing just keep pushing NW as we get closer and ends up slamming into the HV?
  13. watching this storm for Saturday trend north and east each model cycle, makes me wonder if this storm does the same thing? QPF jacks out here may end up swapped with mins before this thing starts.
  14. Southbury southern jack there, probably could toss the GFS run, not happening....The GFS has been quite stingy on the qpf on the western side (besides 30ish miles from the center) for quite a few runs. Either it is onto something or it doesn't have a clue yet
  15. We are wounded from years of being in SWCT. If I wake up with 8 inches tomorrow instead of the slushy 3 that I am expecting, then the rug pull on Tuesday won't be soo bad.
  16. Yup, we need a perfect track here...what is great for those in the east will suck here. I don't think this can be a region wide snowstorm.
  17. Looks good! Sneaky cold this morning, got down to 19.8 here. Clouds are already rolling in too, hopefully keeps the temps on the lower end of the forecast today. Every degree helps in mid March. Biggest storm of the season here is 5.0", can we beat it?
  18. This season! Pretty big red flag this morning, the temps. We need those rates overnight or it might be 35⁰ and slush that never adds up to much more than 2 inches. We shall see though, hoping to grab 3-5, should make for some pretty pictures in the morning with everything caked in snow
  19. Yeah, not getting my hopes up. I'd prefer that big one to come in early February anyways. Will be a fun storm to track though, lots of heart breaks coming it seems.
  20. We are close out here...let's just keep it there for a couple more days. See where our luck is Saturday morning. Maybe this is our storm? GFS with very little precip on the western side out here....
  21. If we are going to "pile" it up, we needed nighttime...at least we have that.
  22. No worries here, I went into this storm hoping for a ton, but expecting a slushy inch. I said yesterday that I was expecting more snow Saturday morning than early next week and will stick to that forecast....Lets see what the Euro shows in an hour.
  23. Let's just ride the UKIE for today.....it has nothing tomorrow night and a ton early next week. Can it be that bad? Lol..... Maybe this is the one, two punch we have been waiting for around here? I do worry the GFS has the right idea, progressive and further NE. But who knows at this point, still trying to figure out tomorrow night.
