  1. Beautiful sunset tonight....Great day for a hike as well, sun felt warm despite being below freezing
  2. 1" so far, temp down to 29.8⁰, looks like winter at least....
  3. Tucked in nicely with hills to the West/North/East....the second the sun goes over the 700ish ft hill, the temp drops like a rock....It also helps that our soil is pretty much all sand, definitely radiates like crazy. I was out collecting firewood with the kids at sunset and noticed all of our puddles were already beginning to freeze. We topped out at 45.5 today and was back down below freezing by 6:30. The clouds started to roll in so the temp has stabilized at 30.6/26, but yet to creep up. Typically we need some wind to help mix down the warmer air just above the surface. OKX is not too far away and we are at times 15 degrees cooler than they are....
  4. 30/25 right now, at least it looks like we won't waste any to rainfall around here, but who knows.....hoping for an inch at least
  5. Way better than cold and dry...keeps us up late, no sleep till February?
  6. Lol, no crying here....pretty much summing up what a majority of the models are showing right now for the next 4-5 days
  7. I wonder if at some point before the end of the winter we get the "goldilocks" pattern for a week or so before the pattern flips. Goalposts shrinking? Wishful thinking I guess. It feels and looks like winter and has for almost 2 weeks now, in the middle of winter. I guess I can't complain too much. Making the best of what snow has fallen at least....growing up in the Mid Atlantic, I have more snow this year than multiple winters in total growing up down there, so one could say I am used to it. Last night, my boys were out throwing snowballs while it was snowing, we got a whopping 0.2", but they had a blast non the less
  8. I enjoy any snow falling, so even if there is snow in the air, I am happy....I dont need to jackpot every storm
  9. I am expecting more snow on Thursday than from Saturday and 1 inch would be a win....I am am totally expecting someone in VA/NC region to see more snow this week than we have seen all winter. Until something actually breaks in our favor, I will just continue to assume it is the Mid Atlantic's winter this year....I have accepted this and will be happy with an early Spring this year....
  10. 2.5" before the heavy rains....as of now we have a net gain, very little grass visible, temperature here in the Valley has been holding in the mid 30s with light winds. Looks like there are temperature drops pushing east now, might have to shovel the slushy mess off the drive and walkways...
  11. 27.8⁰, 1.5" so far....heavier stuff just to my south is probably the start of the mix..
  12. Wind is picking up now, now the temps have begun to rise...26.7⁰, roughly 1.2" so far
  13. 26.1 and just about 1" of new snow Southbury, CT
  14. Snow has started, 26.2°/17°....hopefully grab a couple before the changeover, looks like the sleet line is already down on Long Island
  15. On another note....I had my best solar production day since November, yesterday. It was also my highest instantaneous production rate since then as well....so even before the cars start to feel warm in the sun, my panels are telling me times are changing already, LOL....
  16. -3.5⁰ for the low, still currently -3.3⁰....ready for some rain I guess, hopefully next weekend works out
  17. 2.6⁰/-8 here, off a high of 14.5⁰....had some high clouds earlier, now it has cleared out with winds beginning to subside. Should make a run at 0....
  18. I like your disclaimers...I definitely wouldn't be slam ducking a forecast for this one anytime soon. That winter hurricane is definitely going to be a bit of a player for the next system, just how much depends on just how big it gets...
  19. I still think we need the ocean storm to develop and move through tomorrow before any model will be able to latch on to a final solution for Monday...just my 2 cents, it seems like the models are having a hard time handling a storm 24 hrs from now
  20. Watch this whole system miss the phase and shoot harmlessly out to sea....still so much time before go time
  21. Kids can't sled on the glacier out there right now, so lets wipe it clean and start over again...even the great years had one of these massive rainstorms at one point
  22. Yup, same here 4.6⁰ already....it seems the wind is relaxing too, should be some good fake numbers come tomorrow morning
  23. Sure does look like the northern stream wants to play around hr 51....but it is the Nam
  24. Way too early to make any calls, but this is the type of storm that we may do very well in...
