  2. Biiig wind gust incoming. This storm is hauling a*s
  3. Larry Cosgrove is calling for a ridge to pop up over the next 4 weeks as the subtropical jet lifts north. He also cited a 1998 analog with record low GL ice and a super strong subtropical jet stream, although most of the convective threats will be in the Midwest and Lower Great Lakes. Cosgrove also supports an active tropical season and a very hot summer in all areas besides the intermountain west.
  4. There is a shit ton of wind here.. a few weak branches snapped.
  5. New storms have fired across Louisiana currently. They've already gotten pretty large and they seem to be outflow induced storms. Once they enter the MDT risk zone things could get ugly. I've also noticed clearing behind the storms to the east and there is still lots of daylight left.
  6. Next time check the date of tornado video twitter sources please
  7. Strong thunderstorm near easton MD
  8. Not only that, the warmer than usual waters off the coast will serve to mute the cold somewhat, so we may end up with just a few days of 50s before it warms into the mid 60s
  9. Woah Those storms popped out of nowhere.
  10. I'm ready for my 3 days of 50-55 degree weather and 39 degree lows from this cold april before it rises to the mid 60s again
  11. NAO is going positive soon, and the AO is barely even negative. I don't see much support for a trough in the east. If anything, maybe a trough in the west coast due to below normal SSTs: Waters in much of the Atlantic are pretty warm, and that would support somewhat of a SE ridge.
  12. Waters are much above normal for a lot of the Atlantic. I've noticed that the MDR cool blob has shrunk some.
  13. This weather sucks. Is it gonna be cold and cloudy every day, for the whole month? Probably not. But, this weather we're in right now is exactly that, and it sucks big time. it will warm up by the end of next week probably.
  14. Oh boy. Its still snowing lightly here. We had about 4 inches per hour PLUS for about three hours straight early this afternoon. We had a couple instances of thundersnow, although i'm pretty sure there was tons of thunder/lightning in the MoCo/HoCo deathband. 20.5 inches of snow, with blowing and drifting in my driveway. Then I woke up.
  15. Well, it's almost April 1st. Tomorrow, possibly the biggest April snowstorm for the DC - Baltimore and the Delmarva region is nearly certain to occur tomorrow, with over a foot of snow in northeast Maryland projected by the CRAS and the NAVGEM models. Buckle up people. We thought winter was over 2 months ago. At least it will be 60s and 70s right after the snowstorm for highs, marking the start of actual spring. Blizzard warnings have just been posted for much of eastern West Virginia, and the temps are in the upper teens here as of right now.

  17. And then seconds later, magically, a hand appeared out of nowhere, came out of your phone screen and stole the bottle from you
  18. April going to be cold yet again?
  19. This has to be the biggest event other than 9/11 in my lifetime, or the crash of 2008 including the swine flu pandemic a year later. Ever.
  20. Also am I seriously gonna have to deal with backdoor cold fronts yet again this spring? Isn't april supposed to be warmer than normal this year?
