This weather sucks. Is it gonna be cold and cloudy every day, for the whole month? Probably not. But, this weather we're in right now is exactly that, and it sucks big time. it will warm up by the end of next week probably.
Oh boy. Its still snowing lightly here. We had about 4 inches per hour PLUS for about three hours straight early this afternoon. We had a couple instances of thundersnow, although i'm pretty sure there was tons of thunder/lightning in the MoCo/HoCo deathband. 20.5 inches of snow, with blowing and drifting in my driveway.
Then I woke up.
One thing is for sure: The pattern will change sometime this week, and it will possibly get quite cold along with many snow chances. This looks like a 3-4 week deal and done.
Hmm I don't really know but when it suddenly flips to a good pattern in 24 hours that's a red flag to me. Can someone reassure me that everything's alright?
Sorry to post in this subforum, but talk about the march 2001 storm caught my attention and I just couldn't resist posting in here. You have mentioned the storm that must not be named. TWC forecasted 1-2 feet for my area when I was 9 years old. Don't really remember too well but I think we ended up having school. I was pretty upset then...
5th grade. 2001. I remember that day as a normal day in class talking about the hurricane (Erin I think?) as I was a huge weather nerd. Suddenly the teachers announced the news that planes hijacked by terrorists have been crashed into both world trade centers.
Honestly thought we were entering a war during that period. We had to leave schools early due to safety concerns and being near Washington D.C, as the elementary school I went to was only about 20-30 miles from there.

Almost 14 hours straight of tracking dorian now. Safe to say I've beat my personal record of about 11 hours or so tracking Irene moving up the coast after I graduated high school.
