  1. Strong thunderstorm near easton MD
  2. Not only that, the warmer than usual waters off the coast will serve to mute the cold somewhat, so we may end up with just a few days of 50s before it warms into the mid 60s
  3. Woah Those storms popped out of nowhere.
  4. I'm ready for my 3 days of 50-55 degree weather and 39 degree lows from this cold april before it rises to the mid 60s again
  5. NAO is going positive soon, and the AO is barely even negative. I don't see much support for a trough in the east. If anything, maybe a trough in the west coast due to below normal SSTs: Waters in much of the Atlantic are pretty warm, and that would support somewhat of a SE ridge.
  6. Waters are much above normal for a lot of the Atlantic. I've noticed that the MDR cool blob has shrunk some.
  7. This weather sucks. Is it gonna be cold and cloudy every day, for the whole month? Probably not. But, this weather we're in right now is exactly that, and it sucks big time. it will warm up by the end of next week probably.
  8. Oh boy. Its still snowing lightly here. We had about 4 inches per hour PLUS for about three hours straight early this afternoon. We had a couple instances of thundersnow, although i'm pretty sure there was tons of thunder/lightning in the MoCo/HoCo deathband. 20.5 inches of snow, with blowing and drifting in my driveway. Then I woke up.
  9. Well, it's almost April 1st. Tomorrow, possibly the biggest April snowstorm for the DC - Baltimore and the Delmarva region is nearly certain to occur tomorrow, with over a foot of snow in northeast Maryland projected by the CRAS and the NAVGEM models. Buckle up people. We thought winter was over 2 months ago. At least it will be 60s and 70s right after the snowstorm for highs, marking the start of actual spring. Blizzard warnings have just been posted for much of eastern West Virginia, and the temps are in the upper teens here as of right now.

  11. And then seconds later, magically, a hand appeared out of nowhere, came out of your phone screen and stole the bottle from you
  12. April going to be cold yet again?
  13. This has to be the biggest event other than 9/11 in my lifetime, or the crash of 2008 including the swine flu pandemic a year later. Ever.
  14. Also am I seriously gonna have to deal with backdoor cold fronts yet again this spring? Isn't april supposed to be warmer than normal this year?
  15. Since when did Delaware have mountains? This was from this week's episode of Homeland.
  16. Hottest temperature of the year so far here. 82 degrees and humid. It couldn't possibly drop 30 degrees in 24 hours, right?

  18. Happy first day of Spring 2.0 folks. Edit: Didn't realize I'm sitting on the edge of a backdoor cold front, which IMO is one of the most annoying things about weather in spring but also the most interesting. It's like 80 in southern VA
  19. U.S cases are just 10 away from 9,000 confirmed cases. Currently sitting at 150 deaths nationwide.
  20. Total worldwide cases are at 198,895, and 7,970 deaths worldwide. Just 30 away from 8,000 and I believe we should hit that in the next couple hours. We will probably be at 200,000 worldwide confirmed cases before midnight.
  21. There's been around 8,000 new cases over the past 12 hours. Edit: Worldwide
  22. If the current handling of the coronavirus in the U.S doesn't end the Trump administration for good, I don't know what will.
  23. "It found as many as 21 million people might need hospitalization, a daunting figure in a nation with just about 925,000 hospital beds." - The Hill https://thehill.com/homenews/state-watch/487489-worst-case-coronavirus-models-show-massive-us-toll There is a serious lack of hospital beds in the U.S according to The Hill, which would probably spell disaster for the U.S. Trump admitted a few years back that he cut back on the pandemic response team, apparently as well:
  24. All schools in Delaware have now closed for 2 weeks.
