  1. Looks like we can set a record for the under 40 low streak
  2. Chris when was the last time JFK didn't have a Jan/Feb that hit 50 for a high or 40 for a low?
  3. where did this damn wind come from? it feels like the middle of winter right now. I heard a tv met say "it isn't the temperature that matters, it's what it feels like which matters, so dont even look at the temperature" lol
  4. and JFK still hasn't hit 50 this year. Both streaks survived. JFK also has a below 40 streak going doesn't it?
  5. looks like the projected mean temp for February keeps increasing...and JFK still hasn't hit 50 lol
  6. if we tried to build a wind proof structure to keep it out, how high would the wind barrier have to be? at some point, there'd be downsloping at the other end of the barrier and the wind would heat up so thats a plus/plus
  7. here it's on a W or NW wind in the summer
  8. so a good chance we reach number 1 on this streak?
  9. great, the cat hates you now. Didn't someone tell you to go outside for awhile lol?
  10. ugh what time in the Poconos will this event on Sunday start? I guess I will have to get an early start- no chance it'll happen during daylight hours?
  11. JFK has yet to reach 50 correct? And they may not reach it even with this warm up.
  12. Have we run out of good names that names of popular cities get reused? Boston, NY? C'mon Man!

  14. This is where being on the south shore of Nassau county is a lot better than being further east on the south shore. We had close to 50" in SW Nassau in 1993-94. One more moderate snow will get us to 40" this season. We've had 4x 6"+ snowstorms here this season. One question I have for you and others, with how close to the coast these storms have tracked, one would've expected more rain and less snow than what we got. in Dec 1992 a storm took a similar track to the ones we had this season but that one was like 90% rain. I wonder if that kind of storm had happened this season we would have had feet of snow instead of what happened back then.

  16. here in SW Nassau we've had 4 6"+ storms.....nothing historic and only one double digit storm, but still impressive.
  17. you guys dont get paid enough for taking out the trash
  18. wow.....sounds like my Poconos home got about 2 ft of snow in that one....it was declared a disaster area?
  19. wow no one remembers that because of the March 2001 bust. Did NYC and LI get a nice snowfall from that event too?
  20. that sounds about right for what I had 5 miles from JFK
  21. yup picked up from 0.2-0.5 inch of snow between 11 AM and 1 PM in SW Nassau. Saw my other location near Hazleton had close to 6?
  22. If NYC had done a little better with the last 2 storms they would've gotten there. They had around 4-4.5 in each while just east of there had 6-7 in both of them.
  23. I have been. It's not fun to almost get hit by lightning.
