  1. when you get a fat pitch to hit, you have to hit a HR, you likely wont get other chances.
  2. ever think of putting dry ice down on the concrete rclab?
  3. It was a mighty snow season and often ignored in favor of 1960-61.
  4. 1966-67 may have been our greatest back end winter. 2014-15 and 2017-18 were pretty good but not to 1966-67 levels.
  5. Why dont they just put a slab of dry ice outside and measure the amount of snow that falls on that? I'm serious-- that would actually measure the amount of snow that fell from the sky as opposed to the amount that was the result after melting.
  6. What time do you think it was the heaviest and what time did we have max snow cover do you think?
  7. If only we could've gotten in March 2014 what we got in March 2015 (or March/April 2018).....
  8. Haha the quoting thing happens because I use ten browsers and some of them don't do multiquotes properly. I have the following 10 installed right now: 1 Opera 2 Firefox 3 Ice Dragon 4 Bravo 5 Iron 6 Edge 7 GX 8 Avast 9 Inlog 10 Chrome There's a few others but I don't use them regularly.
  9. Yep, because we all remember March 2014
  10. Too bad my volume of posts in science/tech, politics and climate change will probably suppress the chances of that. If you haven't seen Ant's posts in politics, you're really missing something, he's lapping the field by a mile (with the possible exception of Naso.)
  11. True, I'm looking at it as "if it didn't snow anymore after this" but it looks like March could be more promising than we earlier thought.
  12. my sheer volume of posts (especially in the science/tech forum) will sadly hold me down.
  13. The birds love this snow, I see lots of cardinals playing in it outside (and drinking from it.)
  14. Or hold the ruler upside down so you can beef up your snowfall totals!
  15. So just barely in the normal range then (20-25 was what the NWS had as the normal range here.)
  16. Yep and I think this will get us to average seasonal snowfall. The cardinals and other birds love this snow lol, I think they're drinking water from it?
  17. Looks like the warmth might be transient as we have more chances early-mid March with the PV coming down.
  18. So the warmth looks to be transient
  19. Is that the polar vortex making a visit to our region?
  20. We might be kissing December as a winter month goodbye, it's the fastest warming month of the year. Snow sticks around much longer in December, so we're going to lose that.
  21. How much snow in March/April 1957? I think it was 1956 that had snow in late March and April? Looks like NYC has reached 17" on the season around the same time as that year-- what did they finish with in 1956-57?
  22. Snow is still backbuilding to southwestern Nassau, this should keep going until sometime between 5-6 here.
  23. damn NYC lagging behind EWR too, are all of these as of 1 PM, Don? And has JFK reached 22" on the season (that's their normal I think?)
