    you're right, here on Long Island it was mostly sunny until noon and only partly cloudy from then until 3 pm and the sun is breaking out from time to time even now.

    This morning has been absolutely awesome-- lots of sunshine! I got lots of pictures in of my pink peony tree flowers before the rain takes down the flowers (hopefully not all of them.)

    My best year for growing things was 1993, which was one of our hottest summers on record. I grew sunflowers 8 feet tall, I grew green beans, I had a rose garden, squash, zucchini, tomatoes, cucumbers, cantaloupe, green peppers, carrots, potatoes, egg plant, I even had a row of corn (my first time and last time growing corn). I like watering, I don't need a lot of rain. There is something very zen about just watering and admiring nature lol. Hot weather plus cow manure made everything grow very tall and lush. I love my 100 degree days and rain maybe once every 10 days. We don't need more than 40 inches of rain per year, anything more than that is excess.
