  1. Yeah I would say we very well might and most certainly a sleet fest for a bit. Sleet is around 4:1 ratio for accums.
  2. For triangle folks I am going with a T-1" for Raleigh and 2-5" for Durham.
  3. Asheville: 10" Boone: 14" Charlotte: 8" Danville, VA: 9" Durham: 4" Hickory: 12" Jefferson: 14" Greensboro: 10" GSP: 5" Lynchburg, VA: 8" Mt. Mitchell State Park: 16" Raleigh: 0.5" Roanoke: 8" Statesville: 10" Wilkesboro: 12"
  4. CAD has a tough time making it into Asheville often.
  5. Here is their expected or most likely map:
  6. That is going to be fun to have to walk down.
  7. It is a lot like an NC election. At first it looks legit and then uh oh!
  8. And here we go. That is not a good look at all.
  9. Where on the GSP site is that coming from?
  10. Something definitely went wrong with the 18z GFS at 108 hours and beyond. It is not loading on weatherbell.
  11. He is going with a Miller A
  12. DGZ saturates there but yeah fighting the warm nose at that point.
  13. That looks dry in the dendritic growth zone.
  14. Unfortunately it wasn't by choice. Believe me I miss it.
  15. I am on the bubble here in Raleigh-Durham but most likely more of a sleetfest in this neck of the woods. West of I-85 including GSO to CLT could get a substantial hit for this region down here.
  16. I just fear it will be more of a sleet fest than indicated out this way.
  17. This storm will likely put the Triangle crowd in the sanitarium. It isn't looking great out here.
  18. It is a near certainty that it is over for RDU. I just hope I can find some time to sneak over to the Triad. This is a west of I-85 storm.
  19. Yeah this is one we will have to chase if we want to see snow. It is always tough because there is basically one good chance in this region at best per winter except on rare occasions. I would sneak over to GSO at least.
  20. There are so many Wake people because it is a large population center for the region and of course the met program at NCSU.
  21. All of these pics have me chomping at the bit down here. As it stands I am on the bubble for late this weekend in NC but it is all too easy to go against you out here.
  22. Along and east of US-1: Reserve your spot in the sanitarium now West of US-1 to the Triad/Charlotte area: Game on! West of the Triad/Mountains: This will be one to remember That is your 12z Euro verdict.
  23. For NC it is looking like a west of 85 event without question.
  24. I am growing more confident that this will be a bust for us RDU folks unless you like cold rain and perhaps a touch of sleet/zr. At best we could get lucky with a few backside flakes with the dreaded cold air chase. It is close but I am just not seeing the amount of cold air that makes me confident in a seeing a memorable winter storm. On a side note, the northern NC counties should keep an eye for a few flakes in the very early hours of Wed morning.
