  1. Looks like more storms firing up along and west of US 15.
  2. Was nice to see the Parkton site get a good workout.
  3. Our typical two week window for 3 inches of TV Snow. Then waiting on a can kick pattern for 3 months that never materializes.
  4. Spring 2021....we got about 3 inches of rain in a day and a half. I had put a flood sensor out on 1898 Brighton Dam Rd two days before that and was surprised to see the river come up 6 feet in under 10 hours. We got the road closed down once the sensor tripped.
  5. Western Montgomery County up through Frederick County, MD seems to be the sweet spot for today's rainfall.
  6. I think that activity in Northern Virginia could scrape you.
  7. The cell that originated in Montgomery County, ran up through the Baltimore metro producing gold ball sized hail, and then tried to spin a bit near Aberdeen, is throwing more hail out in the SW suburbs of Philadelphia. SPC mesoalanysis reveals there is a weak surface low nearby, so perhaps that's what is sustaining that cluster of storms?
  8. I swear the bay pushes a mesoscale boundary just north of the city towards the top side of the Baltimore Beltway. I'm hoping that as we put more mesonet stations in, we can begin to better identify these small scale features that make severe weather forecasting so tricky.
  9. There looks like a broad rotational signature near Aberdeen. Might be tapping some bay boundary.
  10. Impressive wind signature on that cell.
  11. The Euro mid range high QPF thing seems to be real and I wonder if it's a result of a recent tweak or software update.
  12. I can hear the thunder in Sykesville from that Montgomery County cell.
  13. 14 days of stratus for 0.25" rain
  14. Yes that was impressive. Cirrus shield extended down into Frederick and the SPC issued a meaoscale discussion for that cell alone.
  15. Please just stay dry through tomorrow evening. I have one spot on my deck left to stain. After that it can rain all we want.
  16. Yea that would be less than idea.
  17. These heavy rain events seem to shift north and east at the last minute. How long until we're looking at no rain and PA/NY get a deluge?
  18. GFS vastly prefers Pennsylvania for the 3"+ amounts.
  19. Ratios look good on the ICON at least.
  20. How did everyone fare today? Seems like the burgh got hit pretty hard.
  21. Euro mid range over amped bias kicking in again?
