    That Garrett cell has legs. Solid up tick in CG and it's got that look like it's a little vort or something pushing it along.

    Long loss of power means refrigerators and food may not be kept cold. Not every school has UPS/back up generators. It's cautionary to mitigate food borne illness.

    M49 mph wind gust Upper Marlboro mesonet site. I'm surprised it wasn't higher given the wide open nature of that location and the site's position relative to that wind core on radar. The nocturnal boundary layer has to be working overtime to mitigate gusts getting to the surface. If this were even late evening there'd be more substantial damage reports coming in.

    Those velocities are making a beeline to the Upper Marlboro mesonet site. That's a wide open spot so that station will get a great sample of whatever comes through.

    I could be wrong, but I don't think these storms survive into Maryland with enough strength to warrant a watch. If they were even an hour or two earlier then yes.

    It's likely the hail core interfering with the radar beam. Note how the broad rotation is behind the best VIL.

    These repeated dying MCS's running into MD make me far more pessimistic that we get anything of substance below Mason-Dixon today. We're just working the atmosphere over too much.

    The atmosphere is so worked over and there's a metric ton of debris clouds. Classic fail modes in these parts.
