  1. Yeah. That would definitely help and may very well be what happens as that has been the case this fall. Model's always have problems when blocking sets up. It's possible they revert back to sustained troughiness in the East like earlier depictions. Back in my day, over 90% of the time a -NAO led to cold in the East even while the West was cold. Recently, the SER/-NAO hook-up has been more prevalent. I may research and see if the occurrence is mainly during Nina's. I suspect it is. Makes sense.
  2. SER and -NAO too strong for one ; allowing for easy coupling. Too bad the SER isn't further east out by the Sargasso Sea. That would allow cold to come further East even if they were connected/coupled. Hopefully, at the very least one will be weaker than modeleled and allow for a disconnected conduit.
  3. Yeah, that usually is the case irt model's adjusting to the block. However, PNA so neg, don't know about it this time.
  4. This was the earliest leaf fall here in many years. The earliest I remember was 1976. Trees were bare by the first week of November. Maples began changing color by the 3rd week in August!
  5. Yep, exactly what I feared. It's a shame we can't have -NAO setup while there's a -EPO and +PNA in place.
  6. Yeah, I knew it is a nina response however, prefer it further east, ala 95-96 and other more favorable nina years with blocking. Miller b to A hybrids are pretty common in those. Agree on that TPV near Hudson.
  7. Don't like those high heights in the Gulf. Hope that's exaggerated.
  8. Better hope it's wrong actually. Don't won't a nao ser linkage, of which has happened a few times in recent years, and that looks close to a possible occurrence, imo. Used to be very rare back in the day.
  9. I've not looked but, sounds like a Miller B to Miller A transfer type. That happened several times in '95-96.
  10. Picked up 0.99" here. Much of the heavier stuff stayed to my SW. It was a good soaking rain. Brings Monthly Total to 3.16". Over an inch below avg..
  11. I used to keep up with him but, he doesn't deserve any respect. All he does is rail others if they don't see things how he does or believe like he does. Calls other's terrible names etc....
  12. Yeah, and we've witnessed that the last few years. That's something that almost never happened in the Winter back in the day.
  13. It's because of it's placement of that monster off the Washington coast.
  14. The self professed greatest Met ever likes to criticize that guy.
  15. Yep. only 10 inches for that cold month. One 5 incher and the rest light events.
  16. Those 500 charts look almost identical to the progged lr pattern. Dec. Jan. 2010-11 were cold with solid snowcover much of the time.
