  2. im on a hunt to find egg nog today, its like trying to find santa claus and rudolph.
  3. True but i try to look at it glass half full...at least we had a big dec snowstorm during the holiday season and deep snowpack/cold in the week leading up to christmas. Hey at least its interesting id rather have this, rain and damaging winds than a 2014 or 2015 december with 50s and 60s and fog/clouds no interesting wx to speak of. Merry Christmas Everyone.
  4. I'm only going to put the ones i was around for and personally experienced. 1) Feb 5th 2001 2) Mar 4-6th 2001 3) Jan 23rd 2016 4) Feb 9th 2017 5) Jan 4th 2018
  5. whats even more insane is THREE in the past 4 years. 2016 North Haven Tornado. 2018 Hamden/North Haven Tornado. 2020 Hamden/North Haven Tornado. Didn't realize i was in tornado alley now.
  6. damn hoth you gonna do our area like that? Tornados before Feb 13? I mean your in Hamden, ground zero for Feb 2013. 40", CG thundersnow, 6"/hr rates... Probably never happen again in yours or my lifetime.
  7. Going to try something new this season. Will be doing a running season totals periodically as the winter progresses. Reports are from AMWX, CLI (BDR,BDL), and a couple fellow mets. Accumulating storms include: 10/30 12/05 12/16-17 12/20 If anyone has any additional reports (I pulled from New England Snow website that had all 4 events) please let me know.

  9. Updated final snow totals map for the Dec 16-17th 2020 snowstorm in CT. Most of CT fell within the 10-15" range. Some higher reports in Litchfield and Hartford county of 16" and 16.5". The shoreline generally fell within the 6-10" range with some pockets over the Waterbury area and NE CT. Lowest report 6" (multiple) Highest report 16.5" (multiple) Final Grade: C+
  10. From the limited reports that i've collected, decided to make a map from yesterdays light snow event.
  11. @ORH_wxman Do you know why ORH CLI is messed up? Based on all the snowfall reports they should be at 27.9, but the CLI says 28.8. I found the inconsistency, it occured on Dec 6th the Season Total says 15.8 then on Dec 7th it jumps to 16.7 but there was no snow recorded since Dec 5th.
  12. must be some drastic cut backs in NOAA...back to 80s graphics.
  13. I deleted the map because i am going to update it with new totals from BOX and ALY PNS and the updated total from @metagraphica in Salem. Should be out by tomorrow.
  14. THIS^ Infuriates me that they though this was an "upgrade". It really couldnt be any worse. Not only are the graphics just horrific to look at and extremely hard to differentiate with the eyes...when i zoom in the page literally takes minutes to load, if at all. The loop either doesn't work or is extremely jittery and slow. And its not like im using some 2002 XP Machine. I have a newer PC with a core i7, 16GB of RAM and solid GPU...and it STILL isn't enough. Sad they killed a good thing, really liked their radar. Glad i have https://www.weathertap.com/radar/home I'd really like to hear an explanation for this change. Look at this comparison...
  15. I don't know what they were thinking I really don't. I know they had to create something new because of flash but this is just.... No words.
  16. Yeah, new site, did u see it? Its an abomination. Unuseable. I use weathertap its great.
  17. Going to work on a map now. Had to get this out of the way first. Scrolled through the last 25 pages to find all the CT reports, used PNS and NWS 72 hour snowfall maps. Reports earlier than 900AM were thrown out, as well as all the CoCoRahs stuff that ends exactly 7AM. BOX did a great job weeding out all those reports so that made it easier but OKX left a bunch of old garabge in that i had to sift through. ALY was good. Also threw out that 26" Litchfield county report from a drunken snow weenie measuring a snow plow pile. If anyone has any additional reports id be happy to add them before i do the map, speak now or forever hold your peace.
  18. Me too. Ive never experience anything more than 15 actually. To this day it eludes me. North Haven has seen some big ones 30" in Mar 11 and 37" on Feb 8-9 officially. I cleared twice for three different measurements. First one 9.4" when we mixed with sleet for a while, then 2.7" from the second half, then a final burst of snow from the squall for 0.7". When i checked depth early it was over 11", it started to compact and might have even been less than that after we got nearly an inch more. Depth is 10-11" range.
  19. this was mine as well, i think most of the state will be in tha range but like u said SWCT probably 8-12 range. Well see, ill do a map when every report is in and finalized probably tomorrow sometime. When did the accumulating snow finally come to and end in that area?
  20. that was a fun one, over performer but i only got 8.5 from that guy
  21. some day OKX will use those purple 48-96 shades, you know them
  22. 0.7 from that, that was great. 12.8 final, biggest dec storm of my life actually.
