That’s not quite correct. Some areas are doing great. Today marks the 11th consecutive day of measurable snow here, with about 2 feet or so total. The snow quality is absolute champagne powder, not a hint of ice anywhere, and even the glades are open. I’d say it’s our best MLK in several years. People just don’t seem to know about it given how many homes we still have available for the weekend.

Agree. I can’t imagine spending a winter up here not liking the cold. But yes winter sports are not cheap - especially downhill. My kids are in the race team and it’s a constant spend on this pay for that

We got a little peak of snow this afternoon after the flurries ended, it was glorious!

Littleton is a terrible place for snow. Funny thing,many people around here LOVE Littleton because of that. I tell them I live in Bretton Woods and they respond “eew, you guys have terrible weather.” And I love Littleton but wouldn’t want to live there because of their weather lol. That said, right now there’s a pretty big difference between Bretton Woods and most surrounding areas, including Conway. Most of the snow since the holiday grinch has been upslope, and that’s quite localized. Many days this week I’ve driven the kids to school in Whitefield and seen it go from several inches of fresh powder at home to a dusting or an inch at school. Just the quirks of mountain weather

It’s definitely something special to live in an area where you can get days of days of snow. And I love how reliable and yet unpredictable it is. The forecasts hardly ever get it right, so all you know is that there will be snow in the air. Could be flakes, could be inches. 17” this week without a single inch from a storm is pretty cool. While we usually don’t get big snows from coastals like further east, these patterns are incredible. One of the reasons we chose this area over North Conway. Upslope is a great insurance policy for a weenie, it makes winter so much more interesting and less aggravating

I don’t want to anger the SNE weenies but this pattern has been amazing. Wish we could just have this all season long lol. Not sure what’s changed but after the 3-4 days of wind and small flakes we now have giant flakes piling up fast. So nice.

The wind stopped here but the snow continues. It’s been a great week from that perspective, just shy of 6” total in a Narnia-like pattern. Roads not great but not awful either.

The past few days have have felt like living in an arctic area with the fine constant snow, the wind and the drifting. I hate wind but it’s been cool in a way, very raw. Another 2-4 is in the forecast for tomorrow, I’m hoping it helps open a few more glades assuming that the snow tends to stick around much better in glade trails

Yep, that’s correct! That was about the nastiest part of the drive as it was the boundary between the heavier snow in Bretton Woods and the crazy wind in the notch.

There’s some snow but it’s more like an ice sheet. Bartlett has decent coverage of very shiny snow.

Had to go to Conway - driving through the notch was scary! The wind is insane. Heavier snow up here but not nearly as windy. And mostly sunny in Conway, lol
