  1. About 3” of upslope overnight, moderate fluff still falling
  2. It could go either way. Some cutters have been great to get glades and steep terrain open - the heavy wet snow makes for a great base, and up here it’s usually followed by upslope to create a nice layered “heavy bottom fluffy top”. Of course if the rain is heavy or very warm and all the snow gets washed off, it’s no bueno
  3. Actually great conditions on the groomers today
  4. I remember the first several years I lived here we’d often do really well in cutters, with a good dose of snow to start followed by some drizzle and 38-40 degrees followed by a few inches of upslope to top it off. It made for a great base for getting glades open. Lately it seems like cutters just suck lol. Would be great to change that
  5. My heart is growing frail, don’t do this to me. JK I’m starting to care less every year that I’m up here. But snow is nice, and especially nice for my business lol. And flooding is bad, very bad.
  6. Do they? I thought we were looking at 40s and 2” of rain
  7. Looks to be making its way here, decently moderate snow atm
  8. Tiny flakes but snowing decently
  9. I don’t know I’ve ever seen the Euro run being so disconnected from the ensembles before for the event on the 10th
  10. We got 3”… doesn’t seem that far fetched that Loon could have gotten 4
  11. That’s bizarre. But it’s what makes mountain weather so cool
  12. Back to all snow now, hopefully no more ice
  13. The roads here are a disaster. Light snow mixed with freezing drizzle, you could ice skate on 302
  14. About 2” here. A bit more up on the mountain. 30F
  15. Definitely a different vibe today. Also a lot more people out there and the conditions were actually better before it got colder lol
  16. How about paying full price but spending an hour in line? Sure, the whole mountain is open but you get to do 10 runs in a day. I don’t disagree that prices are outrageous. I also don’t claim to have any understanding of how to optimize pricing at a ski resort, so I make no pronouncements on the matter. Bretton Woods makes no mystery of the fact that it’s an expensive resort but they like to keep it that way to keep crowds down. We all know the shitshow that happened with the Epic Pass. It’s a balance.
  17. I’ve gotta say, I skied today and it was awesome. Spring conditions with hero snow, great for carving. I’m ready for a change but gotta take what you’re given… and at least some resorts are making the best of it. The weather definitely kept people away so for the ones that did go, you have warm weather, good spring snow and no crowds. A better deal than you often see this time of the year IMO
  18. Getting some Xmas sleet lol.
  19. I was gonna out at 1 pm and the conditions were great, but crowds are low so that helps
  20. LOL It'll be interesting to see how the ski resort adapt to "the new norm" - if this trend in fact continues. Snowmaking is a great tool but incredibly expensive, I imagine the smaller areas will struggle to stay alive if they have to consistently pay for snowmaking to be open. Not to mention the environmental concerns given the amounts of energy required for snowmaking. I wonder what the financials look like even for a place like Bretton Woods, which counts on a "high price to keep the crowds low" strategy. But I digress...
