  1. Another 1.2” overnight, just some light snow now
  2. Snowing moderately again here, big fluffy flakes. Very pretty! This was fun snow to play in
  3. A picture from my spot - vernal pool filling in, snow to top it off
  4. Still snowing at a good clip. Stake at 7” with compaction
  5. Still snowing at a good clip. Stake at 7” with compaction
  6. Getting icicles to form during the day in mid April is pretty cool
  7. Haven’t measured yet but still snowing
  8. Definitely the stickiest stuff of the season
  9. Heaviest so far now. And my internet is out. Grr
  10. I’m sick of snow but it sure looks nice from the dinner table!
  11. Tomorrow sounds fun: The upper low remains overhead tomorrow, and will see widespread rain and snow showers. These will be much lighter than today except for the higher terrain where RH and winds in the 950-850mb layer will support snow squalls with heavy snow and low visibilities at times. This will primarily occur between around noon through 6 pm and affect areas along the CT River Valley, north of and including the White Mountain National Forest, and northeast towards Jackman.
  12. Back and forth here between bursts of heavy parachutes and some mixed precip here. Seems intensity driven.
  13. This camera shows the snow much less than the other one for some reason. It’s 100% snow now but you can hardly see it on the camera. But whatever, temp is dropping - now 37/32, and it’s snowing.
  14. Just flipped to snow here with enormous flakes and still some rain mixed in. By the way, old camera not working but there’s a link to my Nest camera in my signature
  15. Started as rain here with some fat flakes mixing in occasionally. 41/35 so temp has a way to go
  16. LOL. Quebec City definitely has my heart. The lure of the city with more snow than I’ve ever seen in any other city. One of my favorite places to visit in the winter (along with Yellowstone).
  17. I’ve driven up to the Canadian border from here a few times when my mom (a true weenie) visits. The area just South of the border is just about a postcard every time I drive it in the winter.
  18. We were in full sunshine at the beginning of our hike, and with the snow the albedo was some of the strongest I can remember. I could barely keep my eyes open
  19. Yes that’s true. I mean, I often get an earful from Diane and she’s in Twin, so much closer to Bretton Woods than anything in Bethlehem. And as far as notches, Crawford Notch usually has much better snow than Franconia Notch... not that you can buy anything in either notch, unless you go down towards Hearts Location. Amazing snow retention there, although you lose a lot of the upslope action.
  20. Although in April, is it really congrats? Or more like - sorry dudes?
  21. Went down to Crawford Notch for a hike to Ripley Falls. Still deep deep snow there.
  22. If you are lucky you CAN snatch a large lot in the Whites. Mine is 32 acres right in Bretton Woods and was cheaper than most houses in Winchester Mass where I used to live
  23. Went out to Pondicherry Wildlife Preserve. Gorgeous day, beautiful spot.
