  1. NW Ohio had a stormy evening.
  2. I thought maybe you guys in Chicago would be talking about this storm an hour and a half ago
  3. Ever notice this? There are fewer tornadoes in Missouri. Each of the available tornado-climatology maps on the SPC violent tornadoes research page show that this is generally true. Any time the SPC puts a 10% or greater tornado outlook for Missouri, I'm thinking, "there probably won't be a big tornado in Missouri."
  4. Well yeah, storm chasing is pretty bad in Oklahoma a lot of years recently. I've even seen a few Youtube thumbnails saying the state government is thinking of making storm chasing illegal in Oklahoma.
  5. a lot more preliminary or confirmed tornado reports in central Illinois. The number of tornadoes on this list has gone up from 20 to 93
  6. Why does this happen when you open a SPC graphics file on your computer?
  7. The storm clouds were clearing away when I took this great picture last night
  8. I think this qualifies as the most ridiculous squall line in the history of squall lines.
  9. confirmed tornado in far west Illinois
  10. insane triple storm with one tornado warning
  11. tornado rolled over Reed Timmer
  12. Storm chasers see funnel cloud outside of Rockford IL
  13. possible tornado near Rockford IL
  14. Ryan Hall showing debris was generally visible in Lena Illinois on a web cam.
  15. St Joseph Missouri (next to Kansas)- hi-res radar is seeing this rotation
  16. 14 tornado warnings right now
  17. severe storm coming right into Nashville
  18. I heard that a couple of days ago. SUPER Typhoon in April? Are the sea temperatures high enough for that? The temperatures are at a minimum in March.
  19. Seems like still probably a pretty high threat for tornadoes in southern Wisconsin and possibly northern Illinois before the system becomes more of a squall line tomorrow night.
  20. The 12z/00z convection-allowing models have a ton of activity in this time frame tomorrow (20z-00z), with these helicity tracks shown. The 12z HRRR shows many strong helicity tracks in Wisconsin.
  21. That's crazy It's almost like US Air Force forecasters Fawbush and Miller, who got hit by a tornado at Tinker AFB in Oklahoma on March 20, 1948. Then, in the next days, they looked at the maps. They predicted a tornado on March 25! Then it happened. And then the US Weather Bureau stopped banning the word "tornado" and started to learn how to forecast them, leading to the first establishment of the office that we now call, the SPC.
  22. My place got heavy rain and two tornado warnings in Wood County OH for (perhaps) weaker rotations
