  1. Reminds me of the 60’s western with Tippy as Paladin, the Richard Boone role. A slight change to the lyrics and your set to go. Have barometer will travel reads the card of a man. A knight without umbrella in a warming land. I know, I know, I’m old I couldn’t help myself. As always....
  2. Same day multiple threads for different day threats wound be quite a challenge to S19’s post limit. As always ...
  3. Thank you, wxtrix, a little search and I was introduced and entranced by Edith Sitwell. Of her many quotes, of which yours is one. Four others caught my eye: “ I am one of those unhappy persons who inspire bores to the greatest flights of art.“ “ I am patient with stupidity, but not with those who are proud of it” “ Good taste is the worst vice ever invented” “ Poetry is the deification of reality.” some of Ms Sitwell’s quotes can easily be taken to heart,. As always .....
  4. Solar lights just went on in the postage stamp. Rumbles of thunder still sound away off. Stray drops, as if the main deluge is still being kept aloft. “. Hello darkness my old friend” from the Hook/Hill. As always ....

  11. Julian, 140 or so years ago when the postage stamp came into existence, the water source for the house was a well. At the back of the stamp was a small house over another well that was there for deposits only. At that time ‘Brook’ lyn still had them free flowing. If you walked a few hundred feet beyond the block of the new row houses you could probably still see deer and the antelope playing. Today with indoor plumbing and Tap water. I am left with a postage stamp that is a home to horny squirrels or as I lovingly call them bushy tailed tree rats, a family of raccoons who got into and trashed the third floor apartment. Incidentally I believe they’re seeking reparations because the diseased oak they used to den in, I had taken down last year. Then there are the felines, both outside and in who are above it all and feel their entitled anyway. That leaves me which is probably good enough justification for all I’ve just described. Stay well (sorry for the pun) Julian, it could be worse. As always....
  12. Yesterday, I thought it was finally raining on the postage stamp. Instead it was the damn A/C, on the floor above me, having a pissing fit. As always .....

  16. Understood Unc., we have to move on with caution tempered with a a dose of common sense. It was like a homecoming at my barbershop early this morning. Getting rid of all that hair, at least where it still grows felt wonderful. I can cancel the curtain rods I ordered for my eyebrows. Small businesses that survive will have to recoup three months of lost income without losing three months of expenses. That challenge will be more than difficult. Onward ...... As always ......
  17. It would be a useless effort to be angry at someone for canceling something that never started. As always ....
  18. I couldn’t agree more G L. Over 35 years ago I tried in ground plants in a barren but relatively sunny area of my postage stamp. Knowing even less about soil for planting than I do now. I Just put them in the ground as is. The plants grew and did after a fashion bear some fruit. The only similarity my berries had to the variety shown on the plants sticker is that some might have been mistaken for being red. Its amazing how many interesting ingredients find their way into inner city soil after 140 years or so. Even though they looked like something taken from The Day Of The Triffids, the bushy tail tree rats made quick work of them, I received two ripped back yard window screens as a thank you. That or they wanted to make a personaL quality complaint. The berries may have been ugly and inedible but it certainly didn’t hurt the little b*******s libido any. The next year the yard could have been used as a climax scene from the movie Willard. (Yes the pun was intended, there goes another warning point) If this post seems over long and pointless, please check my brief response to Irish Rob above, As always ....

  21. Thank you, L B for that information. Sadly though even a fine initiative like that will not not bring back the starry sky that must have blazed over the early 19th century farmland of Cornelius Heaney, where my Inner city row house now stands. As always.....
  22. Amazing, it looks like some atmospheric deity decided to turn the typical weather upside down. GW conversations should be on the rise after that stretch. As always ....
