  1. Good evening Doorman. A question best answered by a porcine farmer. I remember, fondly, your original avatar. Some of us will always try to keep that door open. Stay well, as always ….
  2. Good evening BxE and noted. For some of us the weather is our lives. I’ll be disappointed if your first two sentences fail to garner multiple responses. As always ….
  3. Good afternoon gravity. The weather may not match but your shopping list looks to create a Biblical Boilermaker. Stay well, as always ….
  4. Good afternoon forky. A fellow Brooklynite, Ralph Green may beg to differ with you. And while forky is anxiously waiting for Billy Goat Gruff, I would like to thank Gravity for replying with an acceptable/favorite four letter word. Stay well all, as always ….
  5. Good morning forky. There is something or perhaps a saying about a pot and a kettle. I just can’t seem to put it together. As always …..
  6. Good morning Rjay. Often I sense the posts as boredom relief coupled with the desire for intense give/take discussion. Sadly, weenies are the given ratings of the discussion results. Stay well, as always …..
  7. Good morning E LI. That’s the closest depiction of present life expectations I’ve seen in quite awhile. Stay well, as always ……
  8. Good afternoon Will. Considering his avatar, doing so showed a lot of courage. Some members by their screen names alone, have an unfair advantage. As always ….
  9. Good morning Will. Your last sentence reminded me of the magnificent Mr. Paul Robeson. The ballad he immortalized in “Showboat” has a stanza that I find applicable to what you are saying and to our storm threads. “I get weary. Yes I’ am sick of trying. I’m tired of living and I’m feared of dying. But Ol’ man river keeps rolling along. As always ….
  10. Good evening Nibor. A possible replacement for the weenie tag or used as an insert when a post has to be pulled during ‘Hot Topic’ sequences. As always ..
  11. Good afternoon BxE and Irish. It may be wise to recant That weather wish before the next ski trip. As always ….
  12. Good morning and thank you BW. I keep thinking that predictable atmospheric extremes = functional atmospheric insanity. I should keep my higher math deficiencies to myself but there’s no fun in that. As always …
  13. Good morning Liberty. Perhaps it glows. We probably wouldn’t last long enough to find out. As always ….
  14. Good morning Unc and thank you again for a light on the past. I went through the page and enjoyed the segment titled ‘Amusements’. I read the sunshine, snow and slush article. The poignant last three paragraphs outlining the plight of the poor was educational. 123 years ago a charitable gift of coal was the only hope of warmth for the poor. While epidemic worries from uncollected garbage worried the populace. You look and ponder and say times have changed, upon further reflection you might wonder, ‘have they.’ Stay well and warm, as always …
  15. It’s a thought,Liberty. I have other places to put it but who am I kidding. As always …
  16. Picking up a bit in intensity over the Postage Stamp. Some bigger flakes now showing. It still cannot seem to accumulate on the concrete. Nice effect on the flora. As always …
  17. Good morning all. The inner UHI blessed city does retain its heat. As a result there was little to no accumulations on sidewalks. Non paved untreated surfaces were quite different. The postage stamp and vicinity are dressed nicely in their late season garb. I wonder, sometimes, if it will be the last time I see it in this peaceful state. Stay well everyone. As always ….
  18. Good morning forky. Try to have some compassion, for some of us its all we can manage. As always ….
  19. That’s a pointed question, Will. (Forget 5 posted I should be no posted). As always …
  20. Good evening S19, romba. Regardless of precipitation preference, it must take a strong character and a steel set of Joey Chestnuts to give and receive that many weenies without flinching. As always …..
  21. Good morning Liberty, Julian. It’s early so my mind fog is clearing. As a result I’ve remembered another of ‘my fathers oft used sayings’ to my then usual annoyance, “many a true word is said in jest”. Oh, Liberty, in relation to another post regarding mail delivery; in the 1940’s two digit district #’s were activated to aid in distribution. Before that all sorting was done by hand. Enjoy the mild day. As always ….
  22. Good evening Irish. I do manage to find my way around the Postage Stamp. I admit it’s been tricky at times. Stay well, as always ….
  23. Wait a minute, Liberty. All those posts with just two fingers …. If the forum Olympic post event ever gets made your a definite gold medal contender. Either that or you should bequeath one of them, preferably your pointer finger, to the Smithsonian. As always ..
  24. Good morning Unc. I don’t know where to start in praising your video archive of snow events. It would be nice if if the forum had a method of storing them for retrieval any time of the year, when needed. I will show this one to my two young Brooklynite grandsons. It sure ignites pleasant memories of my old Dyker Heights/Bensonhurst neighborhoods. From the seed pods ( itchy balls ) on the Sycamore to The quarter century plus vehicles to the finale with a young Joe Bastardi reporting on 10/10. He would often scan an ancestor/pre-cursor of this forum that DT posted on. That forum, sadly self destructed. Thank you Unc for opening the gate. I will continue strolling down the lane enjoying the memories. As always …
  25. Good afternoon forky. They are useful to confirm the virga. As always ….
