  1. Good morning Don. Hearing birds chirping through my open kitchen window, as my sunny postage stamp begins the climb to the low 80’s, I wonder what thoughts are going through a person looking through a similar window in Billings. The atmosphere will seek balance regardless of the consequences. What echos back to me are simple words often used and heard but seemingly difficult to learn …..”We Reap What We Sow” stay well, as always ….
  2. Good evening, Irish, Julian. It will take me another 5 years but I intend to give it my best effort. Stay well, as always …
  3. I’m old. Bring back anything. As always ….
  4. Excellent point Unc. Either the trees are not old enough to sacrifice or a little accuracy is a too dangerous thing. Stay well, as always …..
  5. Good morning BW. I wonder/ponder whether there is a full realization as to the difference in treating a symptom as opposed to addressing the disease. Perhaps the late 80 year old cherry trees might have an opinion if, with the gift/curse of sentience, they still existed. As always …..
  6. Good morning Tip. Well done, though a bit scatological in content and delivery. Now back to listening as Nettie Fowler sings June Is Bustin’ Out All Over. As always ….
  7. Good morning Liberty. Your third and forth sentences could be the lament of a, less than happy, partner in a multi decade marriage. Feel better, as always ….
  8. Good morning all. Perhaps best answered by the closing scene from “On The Beach”. Stay well all, as always ….
  9. Good evening gravity. As per the words of Nettie Fowler: “Then April cried and stepped aside and along come pretty little May!” Stay well, as always …
  10. Good morning Walt. I’m happy to hear it. My Camilla’s, are now in full bloom with the assist of the UHI effect. Perhaps after years and with longevity the trees/shrubs that are at the northern extent of their growing zone are possibly becoming/adapting cold tolerant. Stay well, as always …
  11. Good morning all. 2+ day CPK total, ref: NOAA: 1.64”. As always ….
  12. Good evening Tip. I keep thinking of all those curb side battery chargers and the all electric heat only building boom. What the LILCO cost could have been with Shoreham and what it is without. I pray some one of consequence does ask you and others about the necessity of a bridge between rather than a rode to nowhere. Stay well, as always …..
  13. Your point is well made. Still much of your second sentence seems applicable to our present direction. Perhaps we will exist in Mr. Zuckerberg meta verse until it’s time for us to ascend. Stay well, as always …
  14. Good evening DIT. I’m not sure the latter is an arrest able crime in my fair city any longer. As for the former, to some, that’s up to debate. As always ….
  15. Good evening Liberty, Vice-Regent. If I’m reading correctly, what your saying turns ‘Logan’s Run’ into prophecy. As always …
  16. Good evening Liberty. Knowing Will, it could be his Fourth of July forecast. As always …
  17. Good morning, Will. It’s been a rough banter week. I retreat to my default. “Someday I’ll wish upon a star and wake up where the clouds are far behind me. Where troubles melt like lemon drops away above the chimney tops, that’s where you’ll find me”. Trouble is I still adore Margret Hamilton. Stay well, as always …..
  18. Thank you Rob. Well explained and easy to follow; you should look into adult Ed. We Gerry members of the atric ward appreciate it. As always …
  19. Good morning Rob, Bx, Gravity. As usual I’m lost in my own neighborhood. What is the multi-quote option? One of these days, if I can corral a grandchild to help, I’ll figure out how to make an avatar. I’d ask forky, but looking at his and looking at me, I’m afraid of what it would end up looking like. Stay well all. As always …
  20. Good evening BW. I surface sampled articles on UHI effect. One mentioned the effect of the density/height of buildings affecting air flow and temperature. We definitely have a skyscraper skyline in Brooklyn now. The airflow around large buildings , in my experience, led to a wind tunnel effect. With this topic there is a lot to sample and absorb. My personal, reflecting rather than absorbing, albedo effect is too efficient. Regarding heat waves and resulting fatalities; I look forward to the temperature mapping that is being developed for UHI effected urban areas. A warning of literally what blocks the most dangerous temperatures may occur could save some lives. Stay well. As always …. .
  21. Good evening, Unc. The postage stamp has hosted possums, raccoons, bushy and non bushy tailed rodents. Those Camilla plants at 3 decades have done well. At this point they, even after the freeze, look a lot better than I do. Interesting though, my sisters plants in the Bay Ridge Ft Ham section bloomed earlier than mine. She is about 6 to 8 miles to the south and a bit west of me. If I see anything big enough to feast on the upper blooms I sure hope it’s on 4 legs and is a dedicated plant eater. Stay well, as always ….
  22. Good afternoon LBSF. Before the sub freezing temperatures I took a photo of my just blooming Camilla shrubs. I’m admittedly on the northern end of this particular plants growing zone. The shrub is over 30 years old. I understand their are new varieties that can tolerate too zone 6. After two days of sub freezing temperatures the blooms took some damage. The top two photos are from Sunday early, the bottom two were taken this afternoon. Stay well, as always …
  23. Thank you for the kindness, Will. Greatness, as defined, is the combination and totality of every forum member, yes including you. That, on a daily bases, is what I am privileged to be in the presence of. Stay well, as always ….
  24. Good afternoon NSW. That perspective is definitely relevant. Perhaps it’s the pontificating/politicizing today that seems to make it stand out more. I remember the old acceptance speech satire, decades old, that always started out with “ I want to thank all the little people”. It still seemed a bit more fun inspired back then with Bob Hope monologues. Stay well, as always.
  25. The enjoyable and entertaining awards shows of long past are gone. Now we have a Multi hour testament to self absorption. Probably time to make the golden statuette give away, an internal event to that industry. You know Unc, I could have used that third arm in my younger days. As always ….
