    I measured 1.6" here. The snow on the back end of this storm prevented it from being a complete disaster, but still a pretty big bust. I thought we'd get at least 4 from this event. Pretty bad that it's a mighty struggle just to get to 2. I see the backbuilding on radar, but it's only very light snow. Definitely time for sleep.

    But it's not over. Look out the window and you'll see that it's now snowing. We have a ways to go.

    This batch we're getting now is mainly snow, so claims that it would be just sleet for the rest of the night were not correct. It's going to be fairly light though ... we won't even get close to the forecast amounts from early today.

    Thankfully it's pure snow here now with this next batch of precip that's moving in. Maybe we can get 3 inches overnight as the latest HRRR is showing? I would guess 2 to 3.

    It's a snow/sleet mix here. More snow mixes in when the precip gets heavier. A long way to go so we'll have to see how it plays out. If it's more of a snow/sleet mix then maybe we'll get 3 inches rather than 5 or 6.

    I'm doing the same thing. I usually go on Saturday, but pushing it to today because I don't want to go tomorrow after the shoveling and with roads likely being a mess.

    Euro looks pretty good. I'm sticking with the 4 to 7 that I called for my area yesterday.

    I hope the HRRR is a sign that GFS has been leading the way and we get 6 or 7 inches here, but it also wouldn't be a surprise if it's 3 or 4 and then sleet. Either way though it will be a nice winter storm. Very nice to get 2 solid snow events in December. That should be a good sign for the rest of the winter.

    It was nice seeing Craig on tv last night. We don't get to see him too often anymore. Anyway I like a 4 to 7 forecast for our area right now.

    It was a nice scene this morning with a 0.8" coating here, about what was expected. Most of it is gone already though.

    I'm expecting about an inch here. It will be nice to see a couple days before Christmas.

    Just had a lot of pea sized hail here. The ground got coated. Cool to see.

    53 degrees here right now. Beautiful day. The cold and snow was nice, but it's also nice to have a warmer day for running outside.

    Temp is up to 46 here -- the mildest day in quite awhile. But the last couple days really felt like deep winter with 6 inches of snow on the ground and frigid temps. It was a real treat for winter lovers to have that situation in mid December. Now though the snow is melting quickly.

    It was quite a shoveling job here with the 6 inches of heavy wet snow and we got plowed in pretty good too.

    Same here. Awesome. Last night we said we'd be happy with 4, so this is a nice overachiever. Beautiful out there with all the trees and bushes coated with the heavy wet snow.

    Yeah Euro looks like 3 to 4 for a lot of the area. This looks like a 2 to 4 inch snowfall with some areas getting as much as 5. Nice to get this type of event in the first half of December. Hopefully a good sign for the winter.

    Euro looks solid with 2 to 3 inches for this area. A slight bump north from 0z. This is looking like a nice little event.

    We knew that the 12z NAM was likely overdone. 18z NAM looks fine ... a 2 to 4 inch snowfall is what we're looking for from this type of system.

    Euro looks like a solid 2 to 3 inches for a lot of the area. I'm starting to get excited -- this is looking like a decent advisory-level event. We really need to cash in with this one before we flip to a milder pattern late next week. It's nice that the snow will stay on the ground with very little melting for a few days.

    Yeah I was just gonna say the same thing. I hope I'm wrong, but I assume he's so mad about being 5 posted that he decided to leave the board. I know Liberty went overboard with the amount of posts (lol), but this place isn't the same without him. I hope he returns. Also I haven't seen Allsnow post for many months. I've never seen him take such a long break from the board. I hope all is well with him and he returns soon.

    12 Euro gives us light snow with light accumulations Sunday morning. Still several days away, so who the heck knows at this point.

    Nice to wake up to a 0.2" coating this morning, our first coating of the season here.
