  1. I'm in Piscataway but near the border of South Plainfield. Those heaviest red radar echoes went right over me. It was a quick half inch.
  2. It produced a quick half inch of rain here. Moving slowly as you said, but it's a very skinny line so it doesn't last too long. It was absolutely torrential rain for a little while though. Happy to get the half inch today after the 2 inches the other day. It'll be good to go into the heat wave with high soil moisture.
  3. A line dropping down from the north. About to pour here.
  4. Yeah I just got hit by that small downpour. It weakened as it moved in though. Just a tenth of an inch.
  5. That one missed me to the south by a few miles. I see one more downpour a little to my NW -- maybe that one will get me.
  6. Wow. Here I lose power maybe once every 2 or 3 years on average.
  7. Up to 1.90" and it's coming down in buckets. Looking at radar it's almost over.
  8. 1 inch here and down to light rain, but another round is going to be moving in.
  9. It's working out well for our area. A good soaking, but the extremely heavy rain that's causing flooding is missing to the south.
  10. Up to 0.75" here now and really pouring. Very pleased.
  11. It's really pouring here now.
  12. Yeah I'm right on the northern fringe of it. Low end heavy rain right now. I've been watching the lightning in the southern sky. Slow moving downpours that can cause flooding, but as you said it appears the worst will stay just to our south. Keeping an eye on radar though to see if any of this shifts north.
  13. The downpour in Somerset fell apart and radar is pretty quiet now. Looks like 1.06" is gonna do it here. Would've liked a lot more since we're in a severe drought, but at least it was enough to give everything a good watering.
  14. More downpours popped up in Mercer and Hunterdon, so hopefully we'll be getting more here in a little while.
  15. After a couple more small downpours I'm now up to 1.06". We'll have to see if more develops as there's not much more on radar to the west right now, but I'm glad I got at least an inch. Won't have to water the garden for a few days.
  16. 0.88" here so far from the overnight rain into this morning. Happy to get a desperately needed soaking for the vegetable garden! I see on radar that a downpour will likely be hitting here shortly, so we should add quite a bit more.
  17. Just had a pretty good downpour. 0.45" so far tonight.
  18. The batch coming in from eastern PA should give us a decent soaking overnight, even if we miss the heavy downpours.
  19. Just had a pretty good moderate shower. I'm up to 0.16" so far. Radar looks nice with the big batch of steady moderate to heavy rain coming in from PA. Hopefully this will be a nice 1 to 2 inch rainfall for this area like NAM3km shows.
  20. It's a very inconsistent model. Sometimes great and sometimes horrible. It did very well with last night's storms.
  21. I see 0z HRRR gives our area very little tonight, with the heavy 1 to 2 inch amounts missing to the north and south. Would be very sad if it happens to us yet again. I know it's very hard for the model to pinpoint the spots that will get heavy rain though, so hopefully the 0z run will be wrong.
  22. Sunday night through Monday night is far from a 3 day event. The models are mainly dry for Tuesday now. This has turned into more like a 24 hour event.
