  1. Of course, which is why I said we have a long way to go.
  2. Euro is getting the mixing close to us by 18z Sunday. Mixing is becoming more and more of a concern, but we have a long way to go and at worst we'll get a decent front end dump before mixing.
  3. It sure is nice seeing you act like us for a change instead of all the trolling with claims that you root against winter. It's obvious that you really love winter lol.
  4. Yep it does get a little mixing in here towards the end when the precip is lighter, but the damage has already been done. Nice hit on the UKMET.
  5. Yeah with the airmass in place we know we'll at least see a very significant front end dump. It is kind of funny though (as Stormlover mentioned) that we went from worries about it possibly being suppressed with the brutal arctic airmass in place to now having mixing issues, but it's not a big surprise for this area. We've seen that many times before. It still should be our biggest snowstorm in years even if the mixing comes in a little more quickly.
  6. Forky wanted us to believe that we could that we could never have a cold snowy winter again, but he was probably trolling with those comments. Before this winter he made a post saying he wanted everyone here to be miserable with one failed snow event after another, lol. But I know he really likes snow and is just trolling when he makes all these crazy comments. He's a good met and if he's on board for this event it's great news.
  7. CMC keeps the snow going all day Monday. Not heavy but a very long duration event.
  8. After getting 6 inches of snow from the three rounds this weekend, I'm up to 18.5" for the winter. We're well on our way to our first above average snowfall winter in quite awhile.
  9. HRRR was right on the money with the timing. Snow is picking up now. We should see about 2 inches between now and 9pm.
  10. Nice that it filled in even earlier than this. Radar continues to blossom with echoes to our southwest. Turning out that there wasn't even much of a break between rounds.
  11. First time in awhile that we can say that we're having REAL WINTER. Last winter we finally saw some colder weather with average to slightly below average temps for the winter, but we didn't get much snow. This winter we're getting the snow to go along with the cold. And man, does that long range look cold. The last week of January could be our coldest week in many years.
  12. 2 inches here from round one this morning. A nice two part event where we should get another 2 inches during the afternoon and evening. Maybe 3 if we're lucky to make it 5 inches for today. We got the 2 yesterday so this is turning out to be quite a weekend with a few different rounds of snow.
  13. 2 inches here! Back edge of the snow just about here. Beautiful scene with the trees coated with wet snow. This ended up being a nice little event and tomorrow should be even better.
  14. After seeing the Euro I'm guessing we'll be put under a WWA for 2 to 4 inches tomorrow. This is turning out to be a beautiful snowy weekend!
  15. Most of the accumulation has been on colder surfaces, but the street starting to get coated here now. Pretty good band of snow -- this is looking a little better than expected. Maybe we can pull off an inch and a half on colder surfaces.
  16. Snowing moderately right now with the temp just a shade above freezing at 32.5. Probably just a half inch to an inch on colder surfaces here today, but I'm excited about tomorrow now.
  17. What a pleasant surprise to wake up today to the models looking much better for tomorrow. It now looks as if we could see an advisory level event tomorrow -- probably a few inches.
  18. The temp is falling during the afternoon here as expected. Down to 34 now. Wind feels very cold.
  19. That would be historic. Euro is probably overdoing it since it's very long range, but the cold for the week of the 26th is probably going to be more impressive than what we're going to see next week. And Tuesday the 20th it might struggle to get above 20. Very cold times ahead the next couple weeks. We're having a real winter this year. Hopefully we'll start seeing snowstorms again in late January. The snowy December gives us a good chance to have an above average snowfall season.
  20. It's tough to take any threat seriously if the Euro isn't onboard. Sunday always seemed like a longshot.
  21. Euro is FRIGID in the long range too.
  22. It hit 52 here. Nice to have some warmer weather.
  23. We have to wait to get the cold air back. I know people had pointed to Monday the 12th for the return of cold air, but it doesn't look impressive. Now it looks like 40s next week which is above normal. I think we probably have to wait until closer to the 20th for the return of significant cold air. As others have pointed out, we usually have a good part 2 to winter after a cold/snowy December. I'm optimistic that we'll get a good amount of snow in late January or February after this break from the cold air that we're going to see for a couple weeks. Of course you never know, so we'll keep an eye on next week. We certainly can get lucky in a borderline situation in mid January.
  24. 10 and a half inches of snow here so far this winter. That's solidly above normal snowfall to this point.
  25. Like most I was up late for NYE and slept through the snow squall, but it was nice to wake up to the solid 0.75" coating. Not gonna melt with it being so cold, so I'm going outside now to shovel. Looks as if we're gonna have about a 1 week break from winter starting on Tuesday, but man this has been one heck of a winter so far. Truly cold and snowy for about a month.
