I was one of the unlucky spots -- only 0.15" here. Not enough to give things a good watering. Thursday night into Friday looks like the only decent chance of rain. Other than that the next week and a half looks dry. I'll be needing to water the vegetable garden a lot.
Only .12 here so far, and radar doesn't look promising. Slight chance we get hit by a downpour this afternoon. If not we're going to end up with less than a quarter inch, which would be pretty disappointing.
Yeah it's getting to the point that watering is needed. I'll be watering my broccoli and lettuce plants this afternoon. I haven't had to water them much since I planted them in late March because we got plenty of rain, but it's becoming dry out there again. Getting to the point that we could use some rain. It looks like a pretty good soaking for Saturday. Hopefully that will happen.
I have 3 types of woodpeckers in my back yard regularly -- Downy, Red-bellied and Yellow-shafted Flickers. I see the Pileated woodpeckers (like the pic that FPizz posted) where I hunt in Hunterdon county. Always cool to see woodpeckers.
Only 55 here right now. I don't think we're gonna make the forecasted low 60s today. Not a surprise that temps are underperforming with the clouds and wind off the ocean. I'm looking forward to the much warmer weather the rest of the week.
The peak of the meteor shower is Monday night, but unfortunately it looks cloudy then. So it's a good idea to check it out tonight with the perfect sky conditions. Should be able to see a few.
I woke up a couple times overnight and heard the pinging of sleet on the window.
Quite an overperformer as far as wintry weather. Congrats to folks to the north and west that got accumulating snow. I wouldn't want to see it this late in the season, but I know some people still enjoy it this late.
Today is just going to be awful with the temp stuck around 40. I'm glad the rest of the month is looking much warmer after we get through today. Just normal weather with temps around 60 will feel great after this weather.
Low temp of 28 here this morning. Our last morning in the 20s until the fall.
Really a lousy week. Friday and Saturday we'll be stuck in the 40s with the rain. I'm looking forward to low 70s early next week.
0.16" so far here today. Feels miserable out there at 42 degrees. One positive is all the rain we've been getting lately has gotten the cold weather vegetables off to a good start. My lettuce is growing very quickly.
Yeah I remember how miserable it was when I was a kid and played baseball in April. A tough sport to play in cold weather, and as you said tough for the people in the stands watching.
I had one very close lightning strike. 0.23" here.
I'm not looking forward to the raw day tomorrow, and the cold weather early to mid next week with highs only in the 40s and a cold wind. Thankfully the pattern is looking much better for mid April.
Nothing too dramatic from this event, but a nice soaking. 0.78" here so far. It's gonna rain for a couple more hours so we should be able to get to 1 inch. I'm glad the vegetable garden is getting a good watering.
