  1. Took a ride out to Hunterdon County to go to Sweet Melissa Patisserie (the best bakery in NJ IMO) to bring home some dessert for tonight, and it was really nice out there (they got over 4 inches). It's always beautiful driving through the country after a snowfall .... snow falling out of the trees and beautiful scenes with the farms covered with snow. Anyway back here at home I'm already starting to see some patches of bare ground in the sunny areas. A couple inches of snow doesn't last long when it's sunny with temps near freezing, but of course the snow will stay on the ground for days in spots that get more shade.
  2. Nice moderate snow. It still isn't sticking to pavement with the temp at 33 here, but a decent coating on colder surfaces. Looking forward to 1 to 2 inches of snow tonight!
  3. Just a dusting on colder surfaces here, but overnight was always supposed to be when we get most of our accumulation. We should get over an inch.
  4. And 18z HRRR looks pretty good with the overnight snow. I've been thinking we have a shot at an inch, but maybe we can squeeze out an inch and a half. It's looking like a nice little snow event.
  5. Same here. Moderate snow but not sticking with the temp at 35. I'm glad we're going to get some snow overnight though when it will be able to stick. It appears we have a real shot at getting an inch of snow.
  6. A problem is the cold air is moving out then, so it could be rain if we get precip. Still 5 days away though, so there is some hope.
  7. I think a dusting to an inch still looks like a good forecast for our area as well. 12 HRRR looks reasonable to me with a little accumulating snow overnight. A coating to an inch for a lot of NJ on the model, with maybe a little more to the west. It will be nice to see the white ground tomorrow morning.
  8. Yep. As I said last night, I'm hoping our area can get an inch out of this. It might not be that much though. A dusting to an inch is a good forecast for our area right now.I'm taking a ride out to Hunterdon County Saturday morning, and I'm looking forward to seeing some nice snowy scenes. There should at least be a coating on the ground.
  9. Euro looks a little better on the 0z run and gives us some snow Friday night into Saturday morning. We certainly have a shot at seeing an inch of snow out of this. It's not going to be a major event obviously, but I'd love to see a little accumulating snow. With the amount of cold air we're getting this December, it would be pretty disappointing if we can't even squeeze out an inch of snow. Hopefully it'll happen Friday night.
  10. Felt great today with a high temp of 59 here. Single digits Sunday night? Not looking forward to that type of cold.
  11. Definitely looks like the coldest air of the season. I don't think it will make it out of the 20s here on Sunday for the first time this season. Too bad the Christmas to New Year's period looks very mild. Would've been nice for it to feel like the holidays and maybe see some snowflakes during the big holiday week, but it doesn't appear to be in the cards.
  12. By far the coldest morning of the season here with a low temp of 13.
  13. Only 10 days away, lol. But at least we have a little hope.
  14. Only 0.59" here so far. Looks as if the next batch will get us to about 1 inch for the day. Definitely an underperformer. I was actually able to go for a run during the late afternoon. Just some light rain with very little wind, and it felt good running in low 60s. I sure didn't think I'd be able to run today considering how bad the forecast looked.
  15. HRRR very bullish on rain amounts with 2 to 3 inches for most of the area. Just what we need to help with the drought.
  16. Joe Cioffi is one of my all time favorites. The Joestradamus stuff he used to due on channel 11 was a lot of fun.
  17. Sucks that the long range looks so ugly. Very mild as we move through mid to late December. Hopefully it will change late month just in time for the holidays. It would be nice to see some snowflakes around holiday time. At least Wednesday is looking like a good soaking with at least an inch of rain. Obviously we really need it. Long way to go to bust this drought.
  18. Cool to see a legit snow squall here. Coming down moderately to heavily with a dusting on colder surfaces. Too bad it wasn't just a little bit colder ... we could've gotten a quick half inch to inch out of this. Still nice to see the snow and a dusting though. At least we can say we got a little white on the ground out of this cold pattern in early December.
  19. No accumulation but it came down moderately for a few minutes. Nice snow shower.
  20. Getting a snow shower here right now with some gusty winds. Nice to see.
  21. Not sure why I got a couple weenies for that one, lol. Tuesday looks like at least mid 50s here. They'll see how warm it gets early next week.
  22. Early next week continues to look warmer and warmer. Well up into the 50s.
