  1. We're getting crushed here 7 miles west of Annopoils. It looks to continue for a while. I take back what I said about it being a lame rain event. I wish this was a snow event.
  2. At this rate you better go out west for that.
  3. This rain event is pretty lame. I was hoping for another tropical rainstorm to make winter even more miserable. I'm ready for spring already lol
  4. I'm going to start leaving my truck running all night. Anything I can do to get my freak blizzard followed by 80 degrees the next day.
  5. PSU just canceled winter forever. Damnit.. right when I found the best hiking place ever. At least I can grow weed year round to drown the pain of never seeing snow again.
  6. He's going to run into more then just stockings hanging lol. Jolly old Saint Nicholas will be extra jolly once he eats my cookies. Merry Christmas everyone. We'll get our snow. For now let's just enjoy the holiday.
  7. Today is harvest day for my Christmas cannabis crop. I nailed the timing from back in late Aug when I started them. I wanted a Christmas harvest. The weather made this greenhouse grow pretty easy. No extreme cold. I hardly had to use the propane heat. This next round might be more challenging since it will be deep winter. Challenging is fun, so it should be interesting.
  8. Personally I like the real JI the best. Let's face it. Most of the time when he's trashing LR we're all thinking what he's saying lol. Positive JI creeps me out lol
  9. I was so confused. "Worst runs of the season" then this morning it's all rainbows and buttercup. Anyway.. off to have a coffee and a joint. It's a beautiful day to be outside. Thanks CAPE for the updates. Always appreciated
  10. I notice people calling this a hobby. I think for many of us it's not a hobby. We all have hobbies. I enjoy hiking, gardening, exploring old barns, ect. This obsession with weather is something I was born with and developed at a very very young age. It's just part of who I am. It's not something I could quit. I could quit looking at forecast models, but I'd never quit starring at the sky and wondering what interesting weather event is around the bend. I remember sneaking out at 2 am to look out the window at the snow. I remember riding my bike to the end of my street to see off to the west if any storms were developing with hopes of getting a thunderstorm. We didn't have radar. You'd have to catch the locals on the eights to get a glimpse of radar. In a way.. those days were great.
  11. Less tropical, colder rain and wind? Sorry. Couldn't help it lol
  12. Oh stop. You'll get double the snow out there then here in the lowland swamps when we get a colder storm. Wind is starting to roar through the woods. I had about 3" of rain here I'd estimate.
  13. That's one Giant ocean storm. Looks like the storm on Saturn lol
  14. Holy shit! It's a beautiful morning! Sun shining through snow covered trees less then 2 weeks before Christmas. Win!!
  15. For those of us east of DC it looks like some expansion of the precip to the west. Maybe we can hold on to this beautiful scene for a tad longer then expected. Temp 31 here at 170' above the south river.
  16. I can't believe it. Legit snow! Dumping and there's probably an inch or more on the ground. Woohoo!
  17. Temp down to 40. There's a lot of precipitation still to go in this area. I've seen weirder things happen. Come on, snow lol
  18. Down to 44 here in south river watershed. The perception sure did fill in and get heavy. Dewpoints are down. My humidifier isn't struggling as much in my greenhouse.
  19. Is it still 50 in Hagerstown? Looks like dewpoints are dropping places where the wind already shifted NW.
  20. Hot and humid here. Good luck everyone in Carroll County and in the highlands west of Frederick. If I wasn't working tomorrow I'd be headed over to south mountain for a morning hike to the top.
  21. Dehumidifier is working hard in my greenhouse. Humidity is nasty out there today. Thankfully these systems come and go. I've seen these systems get stuck and we sit in this soup for days.
  22. The rain came in like a wall of water. I heard a rumble of thunder when it came through. Looking forward to my 2-3" of rain.
  23. Congrats NE MD on your first snow. Dry and boring here like usual.
  24. I like the whining coming from Lake Tahoe. We're definitely in a different pattern then last year.
