Watch it be a record breaker. 450" season right on snow camp or bust. Barns Corner is going to have a hot hand this season. LFG! I still can't believe Barnes Corner is going to be my home for the winter. I'm looking forward to documenting the beautiful relationship between Lake Ontario and the Tug Hill. These LES bands are beautiful when they are streaming across the lake.

Jay's Wintry Mix has the most accurate daily forecast. He always goes with the model with the least amount of activity. He's right about 70% of the time lol. On a severe day all the Facebook mets are hyping it. He'll be like "Today looks mostly dry. A few spots could see a storm. Not Leesburg. Our bubble is strong." Then, later on he'll post a radar image of storms all around Leesburg. The housewives are bowing to him

The same areas have been getting it all summer. That Glen Burnie area and up along the bay to the NE gets nailed every time there's a chance for storms. The other hot spot is Frederick. My area in central AA country has had mostly scraps. It's been a pretty green summer imby.

Oh look. A storm popped up and is headed right for Glen Burnie. Every single time. Something about that area.

I feel like short range models have been especially terrible this season. Parameters look healthy like vortex is saying. Today looks great for some fun imo.

I'm looking at it from SE of it. It's dramatic looking now. Hopefully some more action fires off in this humidity.

Tomorrow looks like a good shot at storms. I wasn't expecting the front to clear the area this week. It's beautiful out there today. Late yesterday it got nice when the breeze picked up. I was expecting drippy, humid, thundery afternoons every day this week.

I remember last week the forecast for this week was "rain chances all week". That basically turned into a few hours of rain Sunday evening and that’s it. Looks like a nice week. I wasn't expecting lower humidity and nice temps though. I'll take it i guess.

Models definitely missed this one. I was expecting any decent rain to stay west of DC today and tonight. It looks like a fire hose aimed at PG and AA county. I was expecting this to be over Frederick this evening

True. It basically never has anything prior to an event. It certainly feels juicy out here.

The NAM says what rain today or tonight for DC and east. The storm to the west just goes north and hits the same ole flooded areas of NY.

Congrats to the west. It looks like a steady stream of heavy rain along the Blue Ridge. It's been since January since I've seen a juicy radar. Unfortunately that was sleet and 19 degrees lol

I'm pretty excited for winter. I'm one phone call away from closing a deal on a seasonal cabin rental at Barns Corner, NY. That's ground 0 on the Tug Hill. It's from Dec 1 to February 31. If my location isn't being hit directly I'll still be able to quickly get right where I'll need to be from base camp on the top of the hill. I won't be far from the Adirondacks if I need to get even higher up in elevation. Pretty exciting times.

I'd have them replace all the boards. You're place is beautiful. The reason I say this is because you need a non film forming woodstain (oil). These types of stain showcase the natural beauty of wood. New boards and old boards will have different levels of checking and coloration. You are correct about letting the wood dry. I like 13% or less on my moisture meter. That takes about 6 weeks this time of year. I'd wait 8 since your in the shade. Let's setup a free estimate sometime soon. We'll schedule it up for Oct.
