This slot I'm in east of DC could be a target zone later today. The storms in VA seen to be staying out there. The sky is starting to brighten a bit.

Its pissing me off. It kinda looks like it's weakening. We need that area to clear out or were cooked imo. Just a line of gusty showers later if not.

I'm hoping my truck gets picked up a little bit and humbles the crap out of me while I'm watching an EF3 ripping across an open field on the eastern shore or across the bay. Who's rooting for an urban nightmare storm? I drove down to LA Plata MD after the EF5 (Yes it was 100% an EF5.) I saw things I'd never imagined wind could do. I talked to a girl that was in shock the following day. She had a blank stare on her face and wouldn't talk. Her father said she was in shock and didn't know what happened. They brought her back to the taco bell she was working at when the monster struck. The entire place was gone except one little wall where the bar stools were bolted to the foundation. The tornado actually missed the building by 50 yards. It ripped the concrete off the ground and dug into the top soil where the direct patch was. I think the girls father told me that his daughter's co working was still missing at the time. (Later found dead.) So.. that said. It was an absolutely beautiful tornado. I wish I was able to have seen it from a safe distance. I'd never wish for what happend to that young lady from the taco bell.

I was hoping to chase down an EF3 with my work truck this afternoon over on the eastern shore. I need sunshine and super cells.

I like the rogue supercell potential showing. I might even chase if there's a good target zone away from highways. I like chasing on the Eastern Shore and northern Md. Neither look great for this. We'll see.

Urban chasing is tricky. I try to target areas where there's a less traffic but a good road system. Let use north Maryland for example. 70 is good for getting in but not for chasing an actual tornado. I chased out by Thurmont in Carroll County. Good roads, good views, and no traffic mayhem. You don't want to be stuck in traffic with an ef 3 tossing cars and coming at you. Watch for trees. I take my chainsaw just in case I need to cut my way out. Be careful and good luck. Btw. I'm not a met. I'm just nuts about weather lol. I'd join you if I wasn't working.

Very impressive setup. Especially for March. Looks like a pretty exciting event. I still wish I was up in the UP for the blizzard. If I wasn't back to my busy season I would be up in Marquette right now.

I noticed that too. It definitely was kinda weird there. The wind just gusted pretty crazy here.

I give it a golden winter award. Top 5 winter of my 47 year life. I was shocked yesterday when I was standing in intense snowfall rates. When the lightning streaked across the sky that was it. We received a golden winter award.

That was it! It was a really loud boom of thunder. Then it rolled long enough for me to get my phone out and capture the tail end on video. -

Did anyone from Crofton to Annopoils hear that loud, long rumble of thunder about an hour ago? It was snow hard when it struck. I've experienced thunder snow so many times in my life. I'm always outside during snow events, that's why. I've almost been struck by lightning during summer at least 5 times in my life. That's another story lol -

That was humbling. So, it can snow and accumulate a few hours after it's been 75 degrees the entire night prior to the snow starting the next day around noon, in the middle of March, with a temp above freezing. My grass is covered and the trees are hanging heavy with snow. Wtf lol -

Snow really nicely here in the lowlands. 8 hours ago it sounded like summer in the woods. Now moderate snow. Wild -
I wonder what's it's like up on the Catoctins. I bet it's a different world as usual. Probably a snowstorm lol

I actually felt the blacktop stress in front of my house. It was still warm to the touch. We might get a steamy road look. I agree. Seeing flakes today will be as weird as that late Oct snow burst we had like 15 years ago. -

Still hot here. Windows are open. I'm trying to get that heat from yesterday out of the house. Bring on the rain/white rain. We need it.
