This is the DMV. It's normal to have shut out periods around here. In my 46 years of life in MD i don't remember it ever being cold for more than 2 weeks at a time. Even our big snow year 2009-10 was a drip fest. I've learned to enjoy what we do get and don't look ahead to far.

You think? We had that stretch last January of below freezing for over a week. My point and click isn't nearly that cold.

About the same here. We're slowly becoming less dry. Very slowly. Hopefully we can get some real QPF producers in Dec. Preferably in the form of snow, of course. I know my climo in AA County so I'm not holding my breath lol.

I hope this kills the ticks. Just found one on myself yesterday. 30 here just west of the bay.

I hope they torch and have wildfires by January.

Oh great. I can't wait to be trolled by clippers again. Seems like we had a swarm of them in the early 2000's and they always ended up trashcan toppers lol

I was out in the Catoctins today. It was a ripper up there. I'll be on the Allegheny Front Range by 7 tomorrow morning. I'll be out there all weekend. Send me a PM tomorrow. 39 with light rain at home base. Truck is packed.

What's your elevation? This is why I laugh at you when you whine all summer about missing thunderstorms lol. It's 40 and raining where I live lol

The Catoctins got rocked today. I got up there around 11:15 and it wasn't sticking to the roads. It was snowing steadily but not that heavy. When I left around 1230 it was blizzard conditions with very heavy snow. The wind was coming in big gust that whipped up snownados. I bet there 6-8" up there by now. Possibly more.

The difference with elevation is wild. I went from blizzard conditions and 30 degrees to 36 and rain in about a half mile. Back in Crofton and it's light rain and 39. Still a chill day for November.

It's wild up here. Humbling and beautiful. It reminds me of the blizzard of 96 in AA County lol. It's just ripping up here. Blizzard conditions. I've unfortunately got to head back home and get ready for WV early in the morning.

Down to 31 and nuking here at the radio tower. The road caved completely right here at the top. This would be an epic blizzard in AA County lol. The entire area would be shutting down. Holy shit. My truck is rocking and a snownado just crossed the road. I'm not joking. I'll try to post a picture. Probably 2" and snowing 2" per hour.

I'm sitting in my truck at the Power line trail entrance. It's looking like a blizzard here at the high point. The snow is blowing off of the roof of the nearby building and the road is caving to the heavy blowing snow. I'm going for a hike. Temp 32

Sunny and breezy. Congrats to everyone that always see snow lol. If i wasn't headed to the Allegheny mountains tomorrow I'd go up to Gambrills State Park for a hike today. I still might lol

I'm sticking around tomorrow to see snow TV in my area. Then I'm headed west very early Saturday to spend the weekend exploring the high ridges along the Allegheny Front looking for the jack zone. For now.. WOOPWOOP for tomorrow. LETS GO! SNOW TV, BABY!

That storm had the most thunder I've ever seen in my 46 years alive. I remember sitting in the school cafeteria during lunch that day. I remember flashes of lightning coming from these little windows along the upper walls. I remember the thunder shaking the building and it ripping snow around noon that day. Truly an amazing storm. I was in Crownsville MD where we had about 15" in less then 6 hours.

I think it was the only storm that season lol

Does anyone remember the president's day storm (November 11th, 1987)? Whenever I hear people say it can't snow and stick in November. I think about that storm and how i was stuck at school until midnight when the local rednecks with their trucks saved us. I remember riding up front in some super loud mudding truck with like 5 kids yelling out direction how to get home. The good ole days when adults didn't care about kids lol. I remember lots of thunder and lightning during that storm. I was in 3rd grade and still remember the evolution and temp profile as the storm progressed.
