  1. Yeah and I remember them from when I was a little kid at my grandmas in Catonsville. Pretty insane. We don't really get them over here- maybe a few here and there. Something to do with the sandy/silty soil I think.
  2. Maybe this is the year for the emergence of the -NAO during actual winter. Once every 10 years perhaps.
  3. 67 here. The blocking pattern is finally breaking down. Somewhat warmer and more humid air mass is moving in for late tonight and tomorrow. We shall see how the rain chances play out. I expect it will be underwhelming for many, given the upper low is in a much weakened state, and any surface low pressure that may move up along the coast also looks to be weak.
  4. Looks like a general 1/2 to 1 inch of rain, maybe a bit more in a few locations, over the next couple days. Hopefully it doesn't disintegrate. Right on the edge of getting very dry over here.
  5. 46 this morning, headed for mid 60s and some sunshine. Looks like low to mid 70s beyond today, and 80 by mid next week.
  6. 53 here now with the sun lowering in the western sky. Sure feels more like October. Probably hit a low of about 47 here.
  7. So my mom had a double mastectomy + new breast reconstruction surgery earlier today. Amazed that's even possible in one go. I stopped by on my way home to see how she was doing, and she is feeding her dogs (she has 10 of them). My dad was helping, but i was like, wtf are you doing? You just had major surgery and you are 73! It really is incredible what can be done today with advances in medicine and technology. To her credit, she is in incredible shape, eats correctly and exercises to a fault, like her son. I have her to thank for instilling those attributes in me.
  8. Yes it can. But only after it's weakened ass gives my dry yard at least some respectable rain. Otherwise it can GTFOH right now.
  9. Won't even be close to that with an easterly wind of 10-20 mph, which is the forecast for here. 45-50 is more like it without decoupling, and clouds around.
  10. Sunday and Monday look like the ideal late Spring days so many have been longing for- partly to mostly sunny with high temps of 70 or so, with lows in the 50s. Sounds about perfect to me.
  11. High was 58 today, despite some significant sunny periods. 56 currently. Who was saying temps in mid/late May cant stay this cool if its sunny?
  12. There are snow patches that survive there well into July, and even August sometimes. I was up there last summer the second week in July, and there were some hard core skiers getting a few turns in.
  13. 50 here. 62 is the forecast high today. Looks to be breezy, but nothing like yesterday.
  14. Yeah I mentioned this this morning. Its been impressive. A bit more so than I expected (and was forecast). No big branches down here, but lots of small ones, and a bunch of twigs and general tree debris everywhere.
  15. Maybe the year without a winter will also feature a "non- summer". I am down for it. Would be awesome to experience a New England style summer for once.
  16. Looks like the much sought after "perfectly warm" holiday weekend coming up, other than possibly some showers on Saturday. Low to mid 70s for highs, and 50s at night.
  17. The wind is a bit much. I thought today would have been perfect with the same temps and maybe a 15 mph breeze. I know people have these visions of days and days in the 70s with low dew points in May, but we don't do perfect here. Given the inevitable, persistent heat and humidity that is coming, I will gladly take cooler than ideal this time of year, and like it.
  18. 59 here currently. Chilly out there with that stiff east wind blowing. Fall like!
  19. Lol. Its all relative. Other than the wind, I will take this weather over the 85-90 we could be easily be dealing with at this time. Also wouldn't mind a bit of rain. Dw, a stretch of 70s and low 80s is on the way, with some humidity. I would be totally content if we don't sniff 90 for another month.
  20. On to Jefferson's small batch over ice with just a splash of diet coke.
  21. I am more of B & B fan, but wanted to try the cold brew coffee version of Jager, and it is quite a bit cheaper. It is actually very good.. the original is a bit too licorice heavy for me.
  22. Where are all the happy hour drinkers? Decided to do a shot of Jager cold brew coffee, right out of the freezer ofc. Normally only drink digestifs as a night cap, but felt like starting off with a little bang.
  23. Yaaay wind. Over performed again. Must be gusts to 40. Tree debris everywhere again. Living in the woods is fun. Can also see how dry its become- lots of blowing dust and dirt from the fields driving home. At least there was some sun much of the day. High was 66. Down to 63 now with clouds moving in.
  24. As that high builds southward today and with Arthur offshore, the winds are going to really pick up here. Gusts to 30 in the forecast. Also looks like any clouds that build throughout the day should be mostly cirrus, so probably will see a decent amount of sun.
  25. Mostly clear skies and 51 as the sun comes up. Pretty morning. Looks like the first part of the day will feature some sun at least.
