it's the same damn companies doing it, so it's the same topic. The problem isn't a specific country, it's multinational corporations that don't care about borders. -

by the way plastic pollution involves a hell of a lot more than just the oceans, it's infected our bodies too. -
People waiting patiently for the jog back west in the late night model runs.

who exactly is blaming Americans? I'm blaming corporations (both America and foreign)..... money knows no borders and unfortunately all nations suffer under the corruption of it. At least people are standing up for their rights and the company that was about to start a new petrochemical plant in LA (from Taiwan) was fought against and retracted their offer and left. -
Strangely quiet here....

Euro really seems to be overamped in the QPF department these past months.

You just have to look at where the pandemic was worst, in areas with the highest rates of asthma, obesity and diabetes type 2, you think that's a coincidence? -
Humberto is a beast that is now moving due west.....hmmm.... wonder if the counter clockwise flow around the TD is actually influencing it. No model has it a threat coming to the coast yet. WB 18Z Humberto tracks. NHC excerpt from 5pm discussion. Only a slight westward adjustment was made to the track forecast. Humberto is moving slightly faster, but westward, near 9 kt. The hurricane is still forecast to move around the subtropical ridge for the next few days before it interacts with the aforementioned trough and accelerates quickly northeastward. The spread in the model track guidance has increased since the last advisory, particularly with regard to how fast Humberto will accelerate northeastward in 4 or 5 days. Confidence in that aspect of the forecast has therefore decreased, even though little change was made to the official forecast. The NHC forecast remains generally based on a blend of the GDMI, the AIGEFS and HCCA.

I read those plants are a major employment source for those people. Anyway majority was built long ago, no solar panels or wind farms to construct back then. The newest development there are modern LNG exporting hubs, which I'm actually against because I'd rather keep our natural gas with US borders. Microplastics sources: 80% of ocean plastic pollution comes from Asia. Stop blaming Americans. It's GLOBAL WARMING. Now you're talking about microplastics! Lol stick to a topic man. -
I’ve received only ~0.90” of rain this month with about all of that way back on Sept 7th. Compare that to 17.1” in August!

That is junk. Most of the "blight" areas where once predominantly populated white areas were, then they moved away. This is just crap to cause division. Somebody learned that a 20% correlation is considered "positive", but their knowledge stops there. -

Yes, the health problems associated with petrochemicals also needs to be addressed and more than just air pollution from their smoke stacks which is bad enough we also have to deal with plastic pollution which is finding its way into our bodies. As a matter of fact fossil fuel companies are increasingly going into plastic production to make up for what they see as a slow market reduction in fossil fuels. Plant based biodegradable plastics offer a future beyond fossil fuel plastics.

A quarter inch here so far. A half inch seems unlikely, but at least a decent watering for the new grass seed I put down today.

No, those factories should never be allowed to exist in the first place. They're driving the high rate of plastic pollution too, and not only is that polluting our environment, we're finding microplastics in our bodies too. -

Ok great move the coal plant into a rich white neighborhood. Climate change solved? -
It figured it out for 12z. Pretty much bang on. GFS backed off too, but still had a stripe of heavier rain along /se of I-95 to the bay on the 18z run. That might verify in S MD.

climate change is a global problem but the high levels of pollution associated with petrochemical factories and diesel trucks, etc. is more of a local one. Multiple fronts... -
Again, we’re getting a Feb 19-20 redux. This is the “throw us a bone” run and 0z will be even further south and east than 12z was.

Dude 90% of climate change is happening outside US borders. It's not connected at all. Don't conflate different things. We are talking about greenhouse gas emissions. I wish we stuck with global warming than climate change. It would have helped remind people that this isn't some US problem, but a global problem. -

Because it has to do with many more things than just climate change. Petrochemical plants have increased the rate of cancer 86x in Louisiana and the main reason those plants were built where they were built is to take advantage of poor minorities, Then they started protesting, going to Washington, standing up for their rights, etc. Fossil fuels have to be fought on multiple fronts, and one of the largest ones are the health problems they cause. And the reason why these companies are allowed to get away with it is because we gave them the power-- just like we did with the other types of companies I mentioned. -
Thank to the second cat 5 of the season, Humberto, and future Imelda, ACE is progged to reach ~94 as of Sep 30th. That would be exactly the 1991-2020 avg! What a comeback! But the Euro Weeklies have been suggesting this could occur for several weeks, and recent seasons have been active late, especially during La Niña. With ~94 now forecasted as of 9/30, with the Euro Weeklies forecasting an above average Oct, mainly favorable MJO expected, weak La Niña, and recent active late seasons, a 120+ season total would be likely with even my preseason forecast of 139 being quite doable. A sub-100 is extremely unlikely now…I’d say 3% chance. @snowman19@PhiEaglesfan712
