  1. Past hour
  2. This time of year, 40 hardly dents it...March and even latter February is a different story.
  3. I look for the GFS hr384 KU's to continuously show up run to run but its been a while.
  4. Yeah anything over a couple inches will last through Xmas morning. Xmas eve isn’t that warm. Maybe mid 30s and low dews with a solstice sun angle. But a coating to an inch would be in trouble.
  5. The back edge is approaching but we're ripping pretty good dendrites now. Down to 32.9.
  6. Some nice bursts around this morning. I think the most impactful thing though was a flash freeze. Lots of ice on everything. Roads seem mostly OK.
  7. Wow. Had a 54 mph gust a while ago, also had some graupel/sleet/rain about an hour ago. I staked down two 7 ft artificial Christmas trees when I put them up Tuesday, both are on the ground with the stakes pulled out on one side. I'll try again tomorrow, not fighting the wind while trying to redo. Temp down to 38.8/28.7.
  8. If we can grab a pasty 2-5” deal on the 23rd.. that should last . We had 40ish this week and it lasted until the screamer. And that was powder
  9. The AI models basically have taken the place of the old extended GFS runs from a decade or two ago (and even a little further back when it was the MRF)….whenever you needed to see some good solutions, you’d just loop the extended GFS and watch all the cold and snow show up.
  10. Between 180 and 240, the CMC completely erases any remnant of the chinook, and fills NA w/ BN temps again. Impressive if it is real.
  11. It's funny you say that! A few nights ago we had the most awesome light reflecting off of the ice we had on top of our snow. I forgot to take a picture and now it'll be gone
  12. 12z CMC is on board and about 2-3 days quicker as it has been for a bit. The mechanics for cold an snow are in place around the new year if these trends hold
  13. I wish I did a before and after picture lol.
  14. The Pioneer Valley (CRV from Holyoke to Brattleboro) has got to be one of the least windy places on the East Coast.
  15. I suspect the 18z GFS is just a bit quick, but that is a potent winter weather pattern just after 300 that run. By the end of the run, the blues and reds are in the right places w/ split flow. That is a plausible(though certainly not certain) solution. Great trend if it sticks.
  16. Nasty looking line about to hit my area atleast on radar.
  17. We still have coverage in Westfield, but down to about 50 percent. By the time I get home, it'll probably be just piles
  18. Well date night ruined because of "an (over)abundance of caution". WTF would you cancell a holiday light hike in New England due to inclement weather early in the day?? AND we should know how to deal....
  19. Just heard from guy who is work with riverhead is a disaster, phone poles near tanger outlets are all leaning over the road and it's shut down. Many trees and poles down all over the place.
  20. All of the snow in my backyard is gone...vanished. Outside of some bare spots along the fence line which is hit by the sun, there was probably a good couple inches of cover still. I can see gradd, mud, and melted dog poop
  21. From the house shaker.... Was blown over the house and poked some holes in the roof.
